Project Runway All Stars Season 2 Sneak Peek

And it looks like the first challenge is a team challenge. Of course!

  • DinaSews

    Joanna Coles is back?  Yay.

  • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gabriella M

    ALREADY OVER THEM. Ugh.

  • http://heartprintandstyle.blogspot.com Vivi N

I just can’t believe this is the cast of All Stars Season 2. I mean, whoa. Lifetime is really gunning for the ratings.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Clydette-Wantland/673315286 Clydette Wantland

If it weren’t for Wendy Pepper I might watch but I can’t stand her.

    • Deb Oswald

      drama potential!

    • EveEve

Exactly how I feel about Josh.  Not going to watch unless/until I read he’s been eliminated.

  • http://twitter.com/juliafoxtrot Julia Fox

All Stars, AKA people who aren’t finding work and they could get to come back. Half of them deserve to be here but the other half…I mean, Casanova? REALLY? He’s an All Star? I don’t think so.

    • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

      Exxxxaaactly.

    • alyce1213

A lot of people will lose, only a few will be finalists.  They can’t all be the best.  Casanova is a real character and his aesthetic is unique, his persona entertaining.  I’m looking forward to the fun.  And that’s all it is — fun.

    • MilaXX

Emilio is still working. He was costume designer on the most recent run of Porgy & Bess. In fact IIRC he was nominated for a Tony.

      • unbornfawn

And he designed costumes for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival last season.

        • CarolinLA

I have several friends who work at the Festival and I asked one to go up and tell Emilio that I was rooting for him in this new endeavor.  My friend said he was really gracious and sweet about it.

      • Introspective

and he also did the costuming for Spike Lee’s Red Hook Summer. Emilio has worked in theater and movies as a costumer for the last 15-20 years. He’s never going to be out of work.

        • MilaXX

exactly. Emilio may not make it as a straight fashion designer, but he has a great career going for himself.

    • CozyCat

Mila said in an interview in NY Mag that she went on the last season of PR All Stars to get publicity for her new design.  She said that’s why she didn’t adjust her designs to what the judges wanted–that would have been counterproductive from her perspective.
So it’s not necessarily that they can’t find work; some of them are just using an opportunity to get their name and their work out there.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/GTNXR7QEH34IWSEOXQL3XB7QUM Willette

Peach was doing a fashion show on some other Reality show. I think it was Chicagolicious but could be wrong.

I honestly don’t remember who said it first but I do agree that when they create these “All Stars” shows it’s not fan favorites, it’s whoever was home and answered the phone! Or in Wendy’s case the first one they dug up in the graveyard! Can’t stand her!

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1208138556 Sara Munoz Munoz

My husband stumbled on some craft show Peach was hosting or guest starring. He had no idea who she was, and doesn’t even like crafts, but he watched anyway because she was just that entertaining.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_PVIY3NBCZJAJNFWDBCWG2DMKL4 Jen R

FWIW – Suede is working. He designs patterns for home sewing that Simplicity produces and he has a fabric line that sells through Hobby Lobby.

  • jilly_d

Oh, yay!  Joanna Coles!  She was great last time around.

  • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

Looks like everyone is playing nice for the first challenge.

  • Janet B

I might watch just for Joanna Coles.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_PVIY3NBCZJAJNFWDBCWG2DMKL4 Jen R

I want to watch it to see her critique Wendy and Josh.

  • http://twitter.com/astrosexy єℓιzαвєтн。

    Yeah… no.

  • Clueless_Jock

    I predict total psychodrama.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_PVIY3NBCZJAJNFWDBCWG2DMKL4 Jen R

As soon as they announced the cast I said, “Wendy, Josh, Ivy…. there are some seriously big egos in this bunch. It’s all gonna hit the fan within the first couple of episodes.”

  • dress_up_doll

    Suede? Really?

    • MoHub

Could be worse. Could be Blaine.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1107502269 Chuck Barthelme

Joanna is fierce. Worth watching just for her critiques alone I think.

  • Call me Bee

Unlike many here, I am looking forward to this.  Just to see how some of the interesting characters from past seasons interact with each other…i.e. Wendy and Ivy.  Should be fascinating–like a science experiment.
Plus–I love Peach, who has been doing very well with her line of tennis clothing, thank you very much.  Us Middlewesterners have to stick together.

    • Nelliebelle1197

I think that’s the problem- I for one- and many here agree- don’t watch this show for CHARACTERS. We fell in love with it because it was about watching creative people creating in a pressure cooker. I loved this show when it was good because it was about these crazy kids coming up with crazy interpretations of crazy ideas, not because it was about crazy kids acting like characters and mugging for the camera. I watched it for the work; adoring an individual designer was merely a bonus.

      • Call me Bee

Oh absolutely.  Having been a sew-er for many years, I loved watching the creative process and the work that resulted.  I actually wish they’d show more of that, as they did when the series first started.  But even then the situation of living in this environment, the pressure of the challenges and the clash of personalities was interesting to see.  I always watched with a question in my mind, “what would I do in this situation?” Or, “what would I do for this challenge?”   Of course you think you’d take the high road when confronted with lack of sleep and time constraints, but….who knows till you’re there?
But you have to admit, watching Wendy and Ivy is a sort of guilty pleasure, no?

        • Nelliebelle1197

Wendy, probably, but Ivy literally makes my teeth hurt. Sharp, stabby little pains in my teeth. I will watch it. Of course I will. And you are welcome to make fun of me when I fall off my horse and get caught up in it all

  • ojosazules

Looks like fun to me.  I like Joanna Coles. No complaints here. Yet.

  • alyce1213

Wendy Pepper doesn’t bother me nearly as much as Poison Ivy.
Can’t wait for the fur to fly and the fireworks to go off.  (Sorry for being trite.)

Mostly I’m looking forward to Uli, Emilio, the lovely Peach.

  • kimmeister

Wow, Wendy Pepper looks . . . different.  She looks like she should be out riding horses.

    • formerlyAnon

I think it’s a good look for her.

      • BPlease

I really love her hair.  I don’t love Wendy (and writing of love, I started to love TLo when they summarized one of Wendy’s pointless looks in her Bryant Park collection as “Carolina Herrera called.  She sounded pissed.”) but I think she looks really, really good.  She’s as attractive to me as are Althea, Uli and Laura.

    • YoungSally

I thought she was Andrea (late of current PR)  or some actor I didn’t recognize

      • kimmeister

From the thumbnail I thought it was Andrea at first too, and wondered what the heck she would be doing there!

        • Carrieanno

Speaking of . . .  has Andrea ever surfaced after her midnight escape?

    • MoHub

Well, she lives in Virginia horse country, so it’s appropriate. And I rather like that she’s owning her grey hair. I think she may surprise us and give us a mellower Wendy than we saw in season 1.

  • http://korilian.livejournal.com/ korilian

Is the graying lady Wendy Pepper? Damn this show is old.

    • julnyes

yep, looks like she hasn’t cut her hair since her season.

      • MilaXX

but right after her season she was a little jazzier. She cut and colored her hair and was wearing contacts.

    • Nelliebelle1197

She was always salt and PEPPER (HA) but it is more obvious now

  • elleg929

    Only watching for Joanna Coles.

  • aristida_girl

    So excited!

  • Little_Olive

Wow, Wendy has really evolved for the better. I had trouble placing the face on the thumbnail.

    • mommyca

for a moment I thought it was Annie Leibovitz

      • MoHub

         Moi aussi.

  • mhleta

Two people you will never see in the same room at the same time because they’re really the same person: Casanova and Salvatore Romano from Mad Men

  • nannypoo

I absolutely cannot wait to see all this craziness in one room.

  • http://twitter.com/Alloyjane Alloy Jane

Wendy Pepper is here to right the wrong.  Oh dear lord, this is going to be a fantastic catastrophe.  Bless you, Althea, for saying what we’ve been saying: that half these clowns are beneath Uli’s fantastic design abilities.

So glad to see the last All-Stars panel is back.  They were pretty sensible prior to being force-fed the fix kool-aid.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_BMEASIKJSVE6YP3DE2VLJA5CUU JulieJ

What do you think, Ivy first out?

    • http://twitter.com/sillytwigg twigg

      we can hope.

    • Call me Bee

Yes–I think Ivy is out early, anyway, along with maybe Suede or (we can only hope…) Josh.  Those three are in way over their heads.

      • MoHub

I would love to see Josh going from finals in his season to an early out this time around.

        • EveEve

that would be sweet. I won’t watch until he is eliminated. Can’t stomach him.

    • MoHub

       I’m thinking Suede.

  • AuntieAnonny

I guess I’ll see you guys at the funeral?

  • Imasewsure

I forgot about Wendy’s new look…. I thought it was a post about a new Annie Leibowitz bio-pic when I first saw the screen shot…oops… nice to see Wendy laughing and looking relaxed though…. still won’t watch the show since it promises to be too high-drama (and maybe not so much high-talent?) but I will wait anxiously for the TLo comments each week! Go ULI !!

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

Thank You! Annie Lebowitz! I was trying to think of who she looked like.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1241487378 Lauren Lynch Fox

That is who I thought it was at first.

  • MilaXX

Has Wendy Pepper turned into a hippy? I almost didn’t recognize her.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/6PQUNH7VYANAXMRMEEM763V3EU victor liu

    Episode one:

Josh vs. Emilio ego clash. “I WILL! NOT! HAVE! IT! EMILIO!” (*ratings skyrocket*)

Ivy vs. Wendy deathmatch. Producers ban scissors for the rest of the competition, and Ivy gets cool eyepatch. Arrrrrrr.

  • Trisha26

You couldn’t pay me to watch this show – I can barely stand the original as it is with all the producer/editor manip. For my first & last post about PRAS I’ll say it’s nice to see Wendy P.’s appearance finally matches that of the evil hag she played on the first season.

  • http://www.facebook.com/bert.keeter Bert Keeter

Those cutting tables are a joke…what 36 wide”! All Stars on a budget!

  • http://profiles.google.com/katherinempg Katherine Pisarro-Grant

    I almost didn’t recognize Wendy…

  • Truly_Outrageous

Oh they had to have a team challenge. And the commercials for Project Runway have been utterly ridiculous. This one is no exception.

  • janierainie

It’s too soon to have to deal with Josh again. Blechh!

    • http://profiles.google.com/gillianholroyd gillian holroyd

Too right. Ivy, Wendy Pepper? No problem but Clinique Counter is nails on a chalkboard. Absolutely devoid of any talent except running his mouth off.

  • LuLusLemons

Suede has turned into a Little Britain character.

  • Carlos Abreu

    OMG cant wait… love wendy pepper’s drama…
overall i dont understand 5 or 6 names on the list… (boooooooooooooring)

  • Carlos Abreu

as the duchess would say “ohhhhhh nooooo, i dont wanna know why i keep seeing josh twin brother on project all stars”

  • Carlos Abreu

wendy has turned into this lesbian religious cult CHICk with 50 years old… OMG

    • formerlyAnon

She lives in a part of the world where having the money for custom made clothing (if not couture) and running a working farm (or at least owning horses) overlap.

      • 3boysful

So true–I grew up near there.  But to me, she’s looking less like a horse girl and more like she’s trying to channel 20-something hipster wannabe.

        • Carlos Abreu

i’d rather see her in those 2 size larger blazers a la Rochas…

  • afabulous50

This looks like great fun to me.  I can’t wait to see Wendy & Ivy bitch-slap each other.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

Issac Mizrahi as a judge is the icing on the top of this crazy cake.

  • http://twitter.com/PsychicMuppet Bitsey Carver

Wendy’s starting to look like Annie Leibovitz.

    • Carlos Abreu

      u mean… lesbian???

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Chris-Sutton/1306915399 Chris Sutton

Oh wow- that took me for-ever to figure out that was Kayne in the white cap.

    • YoungSally

Thank you — I could NOT figure out who that was.  Not a good look.

  • Bozhi

I cannot wait to see Kayne.  He has been one of my favorites.   And Uli, I really want to see what she is doing now.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1241487378 Lauren Lynch Fox

I am a die-hard, from the very beginning, fan and I don’t remember about three of these people….

  • Stefanos Mantyla

    Missing Ping.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1241487378 Lauren Lynch Fox

      Yes! Ping!

      • MoHub

New spinoff: All-Stars Wackos—Ping, Kooan, Andrea K, Elisa, Blaine, and Vanessa for starters.

        • andcoh

God, Vanessa.  Totally forgot about her.  And honestly, this sounds like Elisa could finally win and I’d be ok with that.

        • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1208138556 Sara Munoz Munoz

          VINCENT!!

          • MoHub

But is Vincent truly crazy or just creepy? And if the latter, who else would you put in the Creepster edition?

  • Rand Ortega

Wendy Pepper’s Emilylou Harris look is bugging me.

  • golden_valley

Why oh why would Uli agree to be on this show with these people?  Everyone but her was an attention whore or a talentless mean person.

    • MoHub

I think Uli is/was targeted for a make-up win à la Daniel Vosovic and Mondo. I’d be very surprised if anyone else in this crew took the win.

  • Cathy S

    Joanna!

  • Allison Woods

More Peach, less Pepper. No Suede, please. Ivy gives me a rash.

  • CarolinLA

If I were a paramedic working on this show, I’d get my skills up to par.  You gonna be busy…

  • rainwood1

I love Uli and Joanna Coles’ necklace.

  • Carlos Abreu

how can we trust in people with no personal style (excuse me, but have u look how these tribe dresses generally, i mean TLo dated matchy suits compared to those outfits they are wearing are pretty much like grace kelly wearing Edith Head) to create anything worth more than a shit??? i’ll watch it just for fun, cause i expect that a lot, in a reality tv junkie way… and that it…

  • MoHub

I adore Andrae’s neon bowtie! But then, I adore Andrae.

  • Carlos Abreu

is Ivy having another faint moment??? i hope

  • LeoBloke

If Wendy Pepper’s daughter gets a moustache scribbled on her photo again this time, bet it’s going to be with a Clinique eyebrow pencil.

  • Carlos Abreu

people with bleached legs shouldnt be allowed of wearing shorts… any kind of shorts… OMG  what a  freak show that group photo… speaking of taste levels…

    • lilibetp

Not everyone can be tan, Carlos, and I’m not about to let my Scottish/Irish heritage keep me from wearing shorts when it’s hot.  How would you feel if someone announced that you couldn’t wear something in public because of the color of your skin?  I bet you’d feel just a little resentful.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1180174329 Elizabeth Phillips

      • CFNA1981

        i’m half japanese-irish half portugues-philippines
u could wear them… if they actually enhance your figure… wich is not the case above, with casanova and andrea, frankly they look silly… the only way u can wear those is inside your house…

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1180174329 Elizabeth Phillips

    • CFNA1981

i’m not saying elizabeth phillips u have to be tan… you’re not a reality TV persona last time i heard it… please u dont have to be anything, cause you’re not part of the system… and let’s praise the lord for that, that’s a nasty way of living (how was my southern accent???) ok???

  • FashionShowAtLunch

    Andrae!!!!!

  • guest2visits

I loved everything in Emilio’s RW collection – I couldn’t believe Seth’s costumey line based on ‘German military’ style won.
It’s clear Emilio knows the difference between whats costume and what women wear or aspire to wear.
His collection felt fresh, and so expressly complimentary – he made a choice to show something for women to really enjoy wearing.

    • MoHub

But I think that’s the point. Kors said Emilio showed a line rather than a collection. Great stuff, but it could be in a department store the next day.

      • guest2visits

There’ve been winning runways just as commercial-ready and others that were more abstract or editorial; it seems
that is not the criteria that determines a winning collection. Plus there were 3 of Seth’s that Kors and the other
judges disliked, (and they were absurd looks) but I don’t recall Emilio’s designs getting slammed for anything but
the name he picked for his collection. Sounded trivial to me.  I didn’t hate everything Seth made; it was a VERY specific style or point of view though, and didn’t Kors himself say that it was a style that didn’t succeed the minute
PR was over?  That it kind of bit him in the butt, that it was out of trend so quickly ?  Yes. He did.
(pssst… I’m hoping for an Emilio win, if it’s not already obvious!)

  • joything

Confession: I did not see the 1st season of PR, so Wendy Pepper is only a legend and a vibrant rumor.  That said, the pic of her on TLo’s homepage Whiteboard column makes me click the link, hungry for the story.  She’s a CHARACTER, a compelling face and naughty-grandma glint.

    • truthoid

She’s a lying bitch with a Bride-of-Frankenstein streak running through her hair and she defaced the picture of her child to drum up sympathy for herself.

  • PhillipWilde

    So. Many. Quiffs.

  • Jennifer Coleman

TLo, that thumbnail of Wendy Pepper on your whiteboard home page is Freaking Me Out. It’s like she’s trying to hex me or something. Can you change it to the more friendly Uli or Andre?

    • truthoid

I thought it was Annie Leibowitz on some red carpet and I thought ‘Hmm, clever of TLo to start focussing on the challenges of older alt women on the red carpet. Let’s see what the famously dishevelled lesbo shutterbug has found in the bins outside her appartment to wrap herself in’. And then I somehow ended up in a Project Runway article.

  • libraangel

    Suede is scary looking!
I still like Austin Scarlett! Come back, darling!

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_5UQHEKG5EDX4T6NMARUC565TPQ Amy

Oh Wendy…Wendy. Grey streaks and boho earrings cannot hide the crazy.

  • http://frankbettecenter.org/ sleah_in_norcal

wendy lures in the pretty little blonde by faking helplessness on the sewing machine, then pushes her into an oven.  ivy decides her stevie nicks costume is perfect for the workroom.  hey kane, love your little go-go booties. anthony decides to try on his lace bustier.

  • Fanney D

    wow, josh is so… dressed
