Too much lace for my taste when you zoom in, but the overall effect is pretty good.

    • DeborahJozayt

I’m just glad her feet aren’t crying for help. All her toes seem to have some breathing room. What a relief!

  • http://www.facebook.com/beccalise.deveaux ‘Becca’lise Deveaux

I think she looks fab, and I love that rich red haircolor on her!

    • Rebecca J.

I love the red too!  I even don’t hate the style here.

The 2nd pic, closeup, she looks completely gorgeous.

    • Sobaika

Also loving the watered down Peg Bundy bump.

      • http://www.facebook.com/katiewolf2002 Katie Wolf

I was thinking more Bardot-esque, which is a great style-guide for Hendricks if she insists on doing vintage.

  • Vanja

That’s a lot of lace (dress, shoes, purse), but the shape of the dress suits her.  Alas, I see the baby heads are making a come-back.

    • In_Stitches

Baby heads 2: Return of the fontanelle.

Shoes are a snore, but damn, she looks fantastic.

    • siriuslover

shoes look like they’re causing blisters on her feet!

  • http://www.facebook.com/hunter.abrams Hunter Abrams

SHE FINALLY HITS IT OUT OF THE PARK AND YOU GUYS SAY NOTHING?!?!?!?!!?!??!

    • http://www.tomandlorenzo.com/ Tom and Lorenzo

WHY DON’T YOU CHECK THE OTHER POSTS ABOUT CHRISTINA HENDRICKS BEFORE YOU ASSUME THAT WE HAVEN’T SAID ANYTHING YET AND DEMAND IN ALL CAPS????????????????????????????????????????

      • mhleta

        Atta gurl.

        • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=12801074 Brett Hulst

I hope that you are quoting 9 to 5, because that would make my whole week.

    • kimmeister

Lace dress + lace bag + lace shoes does not equal hitting it out of the park.

  • Fulden Kumsal

I really like it, it suits her perfectly but shoes and clutch don’t go with that.

  • http://profiles.google.com/thehilariest The Hilariest

Putting aside the shoes (enough already with the black peep toe pumps, honey) and the purse (a pop of color would have been awesome), she looks AMAZING. Make up and hair – gorgeous. Dress – great fit and proportions.

Girl looks beautiful. Just switch up the accessories, and I think she’d be a WERQ.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1183772509 Jen Hughes

It’s a little matchy-matchy with all of the lace, but she looks lovely.

    • Violina23

This, completely. I think she looks overall stunning, I’ll forgive the slight babyheads since the dress actually fits

    • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

More than a little matchy, but I totally agree! I would have preferred some colour somewhere although her hair is a statement colour on its own.

  • Wellworn

Too much matchy match but it’s fine, if a little boring.  I share her aesthetic, that feminine vintage thing, but it can turn grandma very quickly.  You need something to add a modern touch, and there is nothing here that does that. She looks good though, dress is a good shape for her, and the babyheads aren’t that prominent.  But I think I’m grading on a curve here, no pun intended.  I know it’s a weird and picky question, but why no mani or pedi?

  • eruannalle

Yeah, it’s all just a bit too matchy, but she looks pretty damn great here. Love the hair & make up.

  • jilly_d

Snore. Hair and makeup look great. Why does she insist on wearing those open toed bordello madame shoes whenever she steps on the RC?

  • kikisayshi

Not sure about the hair, but this is a great dress for her!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Josefina-Madariaga-Suárez/100002964685796 Josefina Madariaga Suárez

It’s a little bit on the tight side, but she looks beautiful.

  • everest19

Love her! Feel like she would be a really cool aunt.

  • http://eclectictsunami.blogspot.in/ Cassie

    BEAUTIFUL.

I’m not a big fan of lace, but the hair and makeup is the best I’ve ever seen on her in public appearances, and the retro-style dress suits her perfectly.

  • http://theargiehome.blogspot.com/ Gus Casals

In other woman the lack of color would have lowered the score, but she looks amazing. It´s doing everything we are always asking her for

  • Anna Tree

I wish the hair were back and the girls weren’t so high but, given where she’s been, this is a great look for her.

  • marilyn

Black lace is too boring.  The dress is matronly and dowdy.  It could be a home sewing project.  The purse looks like bikini panties.

  • http://twitter.com/lenabena_ Elena

She looks pretty great. Purse and shoes are hiddy though. I’ll choose to ignore them.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1107502269 Chuck Barthelme

I’m sorry, but the look is way too matchy. Lacy shoes with a lace dress? I don’t think so. And somehow, though the dress isn’t bad, it’s taking a curvy girl and somehow making her too boxy. Not enough shape.

  • SuzBald

Makeup and hair are so. good.  and she demands attention.  I’m giving her my own personal WERQ.

  • greyhoundgirl

So beautiful!  Even though it’s all black she looks so fresh–hair and make-up too.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2P2ANLRZ6YAVGONA36I2AQJYGI VicD

That is actually worthy of Joan.

  • UsedtobeEP

What a pretty look on her—agree that it’s a bit too much lace. And I would have liked the hem a tiny bit shorter, but she looks awesome. Such a good shape for her.

  • MilaXX

It’s extremely matchy matchy, but I think she looks great! Just heard Christian Sirrano is dressing her.  I love him, but I don’t think his clothes really work for her body.

  • Scarlet39

Too much lace, but the dress does look pretty on her.   I kind of would have liked to see a pedicure.

  • quiltrx

Not bad, but this general idea seems to be one she goes back to pretty often.  The shoes are total Fredericks of Hollywood.

  • nannypoo

This is very nice for her. I hate the shoes.

  • http://profiles.google.com/gillianholroyd gillian holroyd

What? She looks terrible in black, in lace, and especially in black lace. This is a Mother of the Bride dress from a couple decades ago.

It fits her well, it just does nothing for her figure. She can do 60s mod but not in black lace, ugh.

  • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

Wow…….amazing good job.  The shoes are so much fun even though they might not have been the best choice for the dress.  Hair & makeup are stunning!  Babyheads are under control!  YESS!

  • janetjb

    Too much lace

  • snarkykitten

    babyheads :(

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=68202265 Andrea Howland-Myers

    Christina!!! You’re doing it!!!!

  • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gabriella M

She looks like Bridget Bardot in the best possible way. Lace shoes and purse were overkill though. She could have picked literally any color accessories to go with this black dress. Baby steps though.

  • guest2visits

This looks pretty great on her; another perfect fit.  The lacey shoes were maybe too much lace overall.

  • aristida_girl

    perfect for her…

  • SophieCollier

Super-matchy but she does wear it well.  Those shoes are so cute!

  • tallgirl1204

Shoes are super cute, but there needs to be a belt or something that says “here is my waist.”

  • Lisa Kramp

I know it’s lace and I know, I know it’s all matchy matchy, but Christina looks lovely here.

  • Sarah Thomas

    Jolene, Jolene, Jolene Jolene
I’m begging of you, please don’t take my man
    Jolene, Jolene, Jolene Jolene
Please don’t take him just because you can

  • Patricia Biswanger

Hasn’t she worn other things just like that?  I feel like I’ve seen it before.

  • teensmom99

Just hit me that one of the reasons she looks better on Mad Men is stockings.  The idea of bare legs is attractive but some legs need stocking (cf Zoe Deschanel).

  • boweryboy

It’s a killer dress and it fits her fabulously.

I hate the bump-it hair.  Also, babyheads.

  • http://korilian.livejournal.com/ korilian

I’m not really digging the hair or the shoes, but overall not bad.

  • Coralie Legister

Lace on lace on lace :(

  • RzYoung

I love her hair like that, it’s so youthful. The dress is good. I don’t like it when she does that with her ankle

  • Laylalola

She just won’t give up on wearing black — too, too heavy on her coloring. And the lace — way too old fashioned.

  • Corsetmaker

I’m convinced Christina is a closet goth :D Those of us with goth roots but who no longer embrace it fully, still tend to gravitate to lace, velvet and black. And so does Christina.
The satin slip is killing the lace and she doesn’t suit bare legs. Pale throat and face can look nice against black but pale legs rarely do. She could do with her waist defining too. And different accessories. Hair and make-up are good.

    • http://twitter.com/FuLinlin FuLinlin

Not a closet goth! She talked on actor’s studio about having been a goth in her teens (at least I think it was goth and not, for example, punk).

      • Corsetmaker

Well closet as in, back in it now – as so many of us are when life and work takes over. But good to know I was right :) It explains a lot about her choices.

  • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

Her hair and makeup are really retro-pretty. I don’t particularly love the lace of the dress, but the silhouette and fit are perfect for her, and the babyheads don’t look tortured.

  • Lilithcat

Cute dress, shoes are nice but too matchy.

But her hair!  Girl, if you can’t afford a comb, you’d better corner Matt Weiner and demand a raise.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=664429801 Kate Clausen

I love lace, but this is a bit too matchy for me.  I agree, different accessories needed.  As for Christina’s shoe choices, I wonder if she gravitates towards black pumps because of her foot issues.  She has some serious bunions – there’s a picture of her in strappy sandals that show them out there on the internet.  Wearing a brightly colored shoe screams “Look at my feet!!!” and perhaps she would rather not draw attention to her feet.  But with those bunions, I think she deserves props for wearing any pumps at all!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

Matchy Matchy Matchy!  If she would have not gone with lace shoes and the lace clutch, she could have saved the dress. And this woman likes her bows.  ENOUGH with the bows!

  • http://twitter.com/HDizzay Hayley

Hair and makeup . . . BAM! Overall it’s pretty!

  • ojosazules

The dress does nothing for her incredible figure. She looks like a black lace shoe box from the neck down. She looks like she has four breasts. Black lace out the wazoo just isn’t a good thing.

  • BrooklynBomber

I love this dress on her. The high school girl hair is just wrong, though.

  • AlexisPayne

Kind of love but the shoes and bag are a step too far

  • kschwarting

I hate to be contrary, but I think this is kind of frumpy on her.  Her hair and makeup are lovely, though.

  • Trisha26

Pretty but the shoes look painful and the matchiness of those and bag are too much.

  • elirt

I think she looks great, but I’m not digging the bows on the shows. She really likes bows, which makes her seem infantile, when she should be exuding feminine confidence.

  • Imasewsure

I think she went without a stylist here again because the accessories are all wrong (aka over-matchy matchy and amateurish) but she does look pretty overall.

  • pepper76

Gorgeous! Slight babyhead action, but the girls look like they can breathe. WERQ!

  • http://twitter.com/delysia_lafosse Delysia LaFosse

The shoes and bag are both fine on their own, but I don’t like them at all with the dress. Way too much lace, all of it different. However, the dress is pretty great on her (if a tad uninspired) and the Bardot hair and makeup are looking good.

  • Bozhi

She is really making all of this lace work.  Beautiful.

  • http://twitter.com/flo_whytingale Florence Whytingale

    winning.

  • CarolinLA

Whenever they talk about her on Fashion Police, Kelly and Giuliana talk about how pictures do not do her beauty justice – that she is so stunning in person that she takes your breath away.

  • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

Don’t like the matchy shoes but the dress is perfect for her and her hair and make-up look amazing.

  • Peeve

Man, she’s gorgeous. That close-up is stunning.
