    Sloppy.

And what is Christian Louboutin’s obsession with plastic this year??  Knock it off already.

    • http://twitter.com/Kathy_Marlow Kathy Marlow

I don’t know about you, but even if I could afford his shoes, I wouldn’t buy the plastic ones

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

I thought the point of buying designer shoes was to you know, get something made of quality and/or rare materials.  There are rows and rows of plastic shoes at Payless, and I can buy one get one half off! Ha!

      • EveEve

Plastic shoes like that belong on Barbie, and only Barbie.

      • http://twitter.com/taijuuuh Taija Hurri

I’ve actually seen a few pairs of his plastic shoes in real life. They look utterly cheap. The sort of shoe you could find in some discount stripper shop behind a run-down warehouse. And to think what sort of shocking price tag comes with it? I am completely and utterly over Louboutin being the so-called ‘Shoe God’. Next.

    • Anathema_Device

Plastic shoes will always look cheap to me. Always.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

Ya know? Like, how much can you mark up freaking plastic??

        • Aurumgirl

           Quite a lot, evidently.

    • kimmeister

This particular shoe must’ve looked really weird from far away with the “floating” black button right on the ankle.  But he did succeed in making me stare at the shoes in the first picture, trying to determine how those bows were staying in place.

  • crash1212

I love the dress and thinks she looks beautiful in it – although that length is a bit hard to pull of. Actually, I like everything happening with this look…until you scroll down to the shoes. Seriously. What’s with the plastic Mr. L? These are just AWFUL. The bows-in-a-row concept is kind of cute, but the plastic has gotta go.

  • Judy_J

    Awkward hem length.  Ugly shoes.

    • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

Nicely put.  It has the conciseness of poetry.  And it’s my opinion, too.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/UGFSSAYFPNER5HPV4GGZA3PMMQ Christiane

      Also, mini babyheads.

  • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

I kind of like the shoes; they work with this dress.

I know the dress is supposed to be that length, but I think it would have worked better on her with just a couple of inches taken off at the bottom.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1241487378 Lauren Lynch Fox

I thought the same thing. She still looks lovey.

  • http://twitter.com/jessicapippin Jessica Pippin

I don’t hate the hem length as much as I thought I would. Jewelry would’ve been great. Like the shoes. Also shiny face is not okay. You’re wearing couture!

  • http://twitter.com/Kathy_Marlow Kathy Marlow

I think the fairy blogsisters showed this dress at a different angle, from the back, which showed the slit better.  From that angle everything worked from me, but not from this angle.

  • Melissa Urbanski

the fact that Daniel Craig gets to unzip that dress when she goes home makes it a total Win for me.

    • http://eclectictsunami.blogspot.in/ Cassie

      Excellent point.

  • Patricia Gillett

Cute dress but if I want plastic shoes, Mr. Louboutin, I’ll buy gellies at Target for $5. I don’t to spend $1,200 for these.

    • TheOriginalLulu

Agreed. Plastic shoes will always look cheap/stripper to me and he’s got a big set of balls charging what he does for this crap.

      • Aurumgirl

I’m thinking Louboutin’s clear plastic shoes are part of a line he really meant to call “Contempt”.

  • http://twitter.com/k_wilson k_wilson

I was hoping this would show up on the Whiteboard.  I knew it wasn’t quite directional enough to make it to the main page.  But I love her, she looks a little like my sister, and I love that she’s in this movie.  More Rachel Weisz.  It’s Dior that looks just a little bit like Narciso Rodriguez, her bud, no? She looks sleek and put-together, and that face! She’s always beautiful.

    • TheOriginalLulu

She IS beautiful. Even with that shiny face, she’s still drop-dead. The dress looks great on her, but she deserves better shoes.

  • http://twitter.com/hevrtweez Heather Anthony

Am I the only one who thought “boob shelf”?

    • MissAnnieRN

nope.  These types of bust lines always make me think boob shelf.  Since hers are of proportional size, she can carry this off, as opposed to Christina Hendricks.  Oh god, I think she has tried it once or twice.

    • Aurumgirl

       Nope.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=610791985 Aniela Marie Perry

    All-consuming irrational shoe hatred.

  • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Rachel is fortunately tall enough to be able to carry off the mid-calf length of this dress.  The only problem is those shoes, which not only don’t quite work with this dress, they are more effing clear plastic abominations.  Make it STOP!

    • AlwaysCoco

plastic belongs on the heel of a shoe  and only if one is working on a pole.

  • MilaXX

Not a bad look, but in some shots it looks like it’s sitting a bit low on the boobs, yet in others it looks fine. I’m not a fan of the plastic  see through shoe, but II don’t hate the look here. Of course I would want to wear them, but I think Rachel looks fine.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1248212910 Jessie Melcher Brown

The plastic shoes look like she has big black catepillers crawling up her feet

  • AmandaCathleen

I think she looks gorgeous — and in my opinion is even pulling off that usually-awkward hem length — except for the damn shoes. But still. For me this is an “In,” if not quite a “WERQ!”

    • letter_M

Agreed!  It’s a super-awkward length for many to pull off, but she’s doing it.  The dress fits well and although I *heart* the Dior pointy pumps on the runway, for red carpet I think the dress needs a sit of a livelier shoe.  I like the shoes from afar but up close notsomuch.  Still overall she looks freaking gorgeous.

  • http://twitter.com/stellaphone Stella Zawistowski

    Her boobs look absolutely tortured.

  • kimmeister

Whoa, I totally am getting a Brooke Shields vibe from her face in these shots!

  • TropiCarla

I can almost get with the dress. She could have used a few inches off the hem. However – that hair and those shoes are awful.

  • marilyn

Boobs do not equal accessories.  She needed less cleavage showing, and some kind of jewelry.  Over all, it is a good look.  She just needed to dress it up with something else.

  • quiltrx

The bodice looks great on her, but then it gets all humpy and bumpy in the skirt.  It’s odd.  And I just can’t with those shoes.

And where’s her best accessory, anyway? :)

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

Love the hair and makeup.  Hate the shoes and boob shelf.  Seriously, she is one sneeze away from the twins popping out.

  • AlexisPayne

Haters gonna hate, I love this!

  • http://korilian.livejournal.com/ korilian

I find my enjoyment of these white board posts is lessened, because TLO doesn’t offer any critique for me to vehemently disagree with ;) .

  • formerlyAnon

I like the dress a lot, but I think it is an unflattering presentation when one has significant breasts. Shoes don’t work with it.

  • LesYeuxHiboux

The dress looks gorgeous on her but things seem to go awry north of the neck. There’s that Crispin Glover hair for one, and her too-orange lip for another. Her makeup is not doing much for her at all, really. I only mind the shoes because I know they are plastic. I wish her jewelry were more substantial because everything else is very bare and spare. A wider bracelet, some earrings or a necklace to mitigate the bareness from bust to brow.

  • holdmewhileimnaked

i think it’s the best piece of dior i’ve seen since the crazy one’s firing–even if it is ludicrously, ridiculously a VivW rip. in other news, i really love the shoes.

  • http://twitter.com/AzSportsGirl63 Ganell Dunn

    Premature baby babyheads!

  • http://eclectictsunami.blogspot.in/ Cassie

She’s tall enough to carry off that awkward hem length, but girl, that is NOT your hair and makeup. She is ravishingly beautiful and this just isn’t cutting it.

  • SophieCollier

The dress is fine, but the shoes give her hairy hobbit feet from a distance.

  • elemspbee

She looks gorgeous. She has so much class, even with the plastic shoes.

  • Imasewsure

The dress doesn’t work for me (she still looks beautiful of course but a little off) but I think those shoes are interesting… might not like them or I might love them… just not with this outfit

  • Bree The Vole

Not sure about the dress, but I adore the domino clutch.

  • aeg66

Bad plastic shoes, bad, bad, bad.  No matter how much you pay your feet will still sweat & stink like a cheap strippers.

  • RzYoung

I think the design makes it look like her boobs are resting on a little shelf

  • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gabriella M

Cute shoes! I know others don’t like them, but I dig ‘em.

  • jmorino08

Put the baby heads away, please. Also, those shoes are ridiculous, and not in the good way…

  • bellafigura1

Sheesh, what a crowd.  Her decolletage looks spectacular, just the right amount of swell. Gorgeous.

  • teensmom99

BTW, this is a fall-winter dress not a dress for NYC in 90+ degree weather.

  • http://www.facebook.com/Murphy.J.Colin Colin Murphy

The shoes are the only redeeming quality about this getup
