Hate those shoes. They’re ugly and impractical.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=610791985 Aniela Marie Perry

I’m curious what they are like to walk in.

      • ballerinawithagun

They would have to be impossible to walk in without planning every step!

    • Terrie_S

The shoes look like they got too hot under the lights, softened and bent under her weight. Awful.

    • RebeccaKW

I am so ready for that turned in heel to die.

  • Pupioso

Don’t care for this look. The dress is too boxy looking and doesn’t really suit her figure. She looks like the monolith from Kubrick’s  2001 a Space Oddessey LOL.

  • http://twitter.com/_karenbee_ Karen Bee

Not a fan of the shoes. And her shoulders look … awkward.

  • crash1212

Boxy dress – too short. HATE the shoes. Those heels look unwalkable and unflattering and in general piss me off.

    • Rebecca J.

Piss me off was also my reaction to those shoes.  They are effin’ stupid.

She looks cheap and wrinked, hair to heels.

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

I’m glad I’m not the only one who actually got mad at the shoes too. :P

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

It just hit me… they’re a very, very poor substitute for Alexander McQueen’s “hoof” shoes from a few years ago. Those were hideous and impractical, but at least they were… interesting. These, not so much.

  • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

Heavy, wrinkly, boxy, and unflattering. And the shoes are hideous.

  • kimmeister

From the front, the shoes are cute.  From the side, GAAAAH!  Architecturally unstable and reminiscent of an anteater’s snout.  Yuckster.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_L6FKGKUXWF6QSWWYAHJZYKKI3E Adrian

Hate the dress (either the sleeves are too long, or the skirt is too short, and that fabric is…well, it might be kind of pretty, but it doesn’t photograph well and it’s too flimsy for that lumpy shoulder treatment), love the shoes!

  • Trisha26

I like the outfit – shoes are architecturally stunning if impractical. Have to ask though – did she know it was about 90 degrees & 90% humidity that night?

  • 3boysful

Has no one mentioned the harsh black eyeliner?  Most unflattering, Malin.  And perhaps we tone down the bleached blonde haircolor, yes?

  • guest2visits

The shoes are kind of interesting, the dress looks too short and tarty. And she’s got the strangest posture with her arms
in this pic. Brittany posture. And that’s not good.

    • http://twitter.com/pointlesswords jayme

Trying to hard the sweat patches under her arms maybe?

      • guest2visits

It really looks that way. I can’t help but compare her always now with the look she got wearing the
Marchesa dress (way back in 6/11/12); sophisticated, gorgeous. Most of the time I think she dresses
        on the cheapy side.

  • greyhoundgirl

I love all of the fierce opinions and funny descriptions of the shoes that this post has brought forth!

  • TieDye64

Not an attractive look. BURN the shoes!

  • http://twitter.com/lenabena_ Elena

Those shoes are terrifying. Facially she does look very pretty here, though.

  • http://twitter.com/MajorBedhead MajorBedhead

She looks like she’s holding her arms so close to her sides so no one will see the sweat stains. The dress is a hideous, wrinkled mess and the shoes are awful.

  • nannypoo

The average 4H member could set in sleeves better than whoever made this fugly dress.

  • quiltrx

The dress itself makes her look like a capital V (bolded)…and the wrinkles are totally adding to the illusion.  Ick.

  • holdmewhileimnaked

the dress is almost as hideous as the shoes are amazing.

    • Lizzyisi

Here I was thinking I was alone in loving the shoes. But putting them in the same room as that dress is a terrible thing to do to them.

  • http://twitter.com/stellaphone Stella Zawistowski

Celebrities really can’t afford to get their clothes steamed out before an appearance? And the designers who are lending their clothes out for publicity really don’t think, “Hey, maybe we should press this so that we get GOOD publicity for our line”? I really don’t get it.

I don’t get the shoes either.

  • ojosazules

The dress is a mess. The shoes don’t look like you could walk in them, but I love them- witch doesn’t need to walk, she’s got a broom!

  • Kirsten Henry

    love those shoes

  • LesYeuxHiboux

I feel like she’s angling to be the next Cameron Diaz, but she always has this calculating look (nevermind the fact that the original Cameron Diaz is still around). She has a small chest and a great curve to her hips, and the shape of this dress isn’t doing much to flatter either feature. A dark, long-sleeved dress seems awful in this heat…though perhaps the shine is reflecting IR?

The hiddy shoes give her cartoon-feet.

  • formerlyAnon

Meh. Dress might work if it isn’t so shiny when not lit for photography. And if she’s not hunching her shoulders, the shoulders of that dress are not working. Not impressed here.

    Also, hate the shoes.

  • http://kingderella.tumblr.com/ kingderella

wow. this dress is HIDEOUS. the wrinkling appears to be intentional on the sleeves and accidental everywhere else… and in both cases, it looks geriatric. the fabric is too shiny, the designy elements (shoulders and long sleeves) add nothing.

    kinda love the shoes, tho.

  • Patricia Gillett

From the Project Runway “Time’s Up, Tim’s at the Door, Didn’t Get to Steam the Garment” Collection.
And the booties look like the last view you have of the Wicked Witch in the Wizard of Oz.

  • ChiKat67

    No.

OK, fine.   The dress looks wrinkled and not textured

  • http://profiles.google.com/gillianholroyd gillian holroyd

The shoes are scary but I like them.

  • http://twitter.com/jessicapippin Jessica Pippin

She knows it’s still summer, right?

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

Malin, hire a stylist for fuck’s sake.

  • frannyprof

Those shoes are from the Devil.

  • CassandraMortmain

It’s absurd and cruel to expect women to walk in shoes like these but I do think that purely as a piece of art or design the shoes are pretty fantastic.  I love witchy shoes and these do have that feel.  Love them.

It’s summer and hot and humid and the whole look is more appropriate for winter.  Plus, t’s a wrinkled, unflattering mess.

  • http://twitter.com/delysia_lafosse Delysia LaFosse

Not only is the shape of the dress way too boxy and loose (a fact that someone clearly tried to amend for by making it too short), I can’t imagine when you can wear it without it looking like a wrinkled mess. It just looks cheap, especially around the seams, and the fabric isn’t structured enough for the pseudo-architectural shoulders. It reminds me of an H&M knockoff of a much better dress. I won’t even bother with an actual critique of the shoes.

  • Judy_J

Those shoes look like something out of a Tim Burton movie.

  • MilaXX

drab. needs some color and bling

  • marilyn

This is a very forgettable look.  I am wondering if the dress has a problem.  Are the seams (particularly around the arms) puckering?  The light is catching the sleeves differently than the body of the dress.  Were the sleeves cut at a 90 degree angle from the body of th dress?   That would be an error by the manufacturer.  This fabric has nap, and it should be the same directon for the sleeves and the body of the dress.

The shoes are weird, but more interesting than the dress.  This looks like something a high school student would have considered dressy in the 1980′s.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/J5QKZG5NFXQE3MLXFN3MAQDUTA Mary Stone

strange shaped heels make my ankles hurt and my eyes twitch, and not only that they are as unflattering to the shape of the foot as the Alexander McQueen hoof.  Hate hate hate.

  • l_c_ann

Her coloring and hair color look great in a black dress against a black background.  Who cares what the dress looks like, it draws your attention to her face and that’s a good thing.

  • Deedles

OH MY GOSH! She stole Witch Hazel’s (of Bugs Bunny fame) shoes!

  • piecesofconfetti

I’m in the minority here, but I love those shoes. They are daring.

    • Sue_Asponte

Yes! I want those kick-butt shoes!!!

  • http://blue-again.myopenid.com/ blue

Those are the ugliest shoes I’ve ever seen.

  • rissa42210

    wtf

  • boweryboy

Malicia Akerman – Morticia Addam’s humpback cousin.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Paige-Boerman/670140590 Paige Boerman

Evil shoes. Everything else is inoffensive.

  • teensmom99

Dress could almost work–she may be one of the few people who doesn’t look horrible with that length–but the shoes ruin whatever might have been.  Maybe these shoes could work with long, full pants that would basically cover them up.  Maybe.

  • Aly Light

Ew. These shoes are to be work by SciFi villains only.

  • kikisayshi

    No and hell no.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=717955989 Barbara Affolter

I thought that this was Tara Reid.  That is never a compliment.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1316070988 Roey Thorpe

Two words:  Dew Claw.  Those shoes need to go to the vet for a trim.

  • Aurumgirl

I just generally wish the trend of booties with dresses and skirts would die.  No matter how beautiful your legs are, booties cutting you off at the ankles does nothing but turn your legs and calves into stumps.  No one looks good in them, and these uglier than most booties just make Malin look stumpy and clumsy.

  • CDarcey

    Clomp, clomp, stumble, crash!

  • HobbitGirl

So, wrinkled black satiny nightgown-thing and Alien stripper heels? Not a great look.

  • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

It’s just a big “oh honey no” – dress is seasonally inappropriate, wrinkly and unflattering, she’s carrying a very businessy clutch with an evening-y dress, she needs some jewellery and the shoes are horrible pixie hoofs. Nice hair and makeup though.

What’s up with the winter clothes in August?

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=13953311 Missy Covington

What.What.What are you doing? Girl, look at your life. Look at your choices.

    Those shoes. My god.

  • MzzPants

She looks so rigid and uncomfortable.  If she moves an inch, there’s two possibilities:  1. the dress rides up to her waist,  2. that quart of green smoothie she had for lunch makes it’s exit.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_26QG22FL4HVT7ZA46F4EE4UEXY amyw

I just keep staring at the thumbnail of the shoes in amazement and horror. I hate them, but I can’t look away.

  • http://profiles.google.com/scaponigro Sarah Caponigro

    Irrational celebrity hate.
