lol she’s dangerously close to making a duckface in the last pic

i like it? she never does anything for me :(

    • http://twitter.com/emilyf007 emily

she’s not dangerously close, she’s there.

I can’t seem to understand her, she seems to be her tv/movie persona all the time, which makes me wonder if she can act at all. Though she wouldn’t be the first actor/ess who can’t actually do what their job description entails…

  • TheLaurenJean

If only she had taken out the ribbon, and gotten her makeup under control, this would have been amazing!

  • http://twitter.com/_karenbee_ Karen Bee

She’s killing me with that hair.

    • janetjb

I want to brush it out for her.

  • MK03

    PLEASE GO AWAY NOW.

Beautiful dress, beautiful earrings, everything else horrid. Did that belt come with the dress? It’s AWFUL.

  • http://twitter.com/MandySCG MandyJane

I’m tempted to give her a werq, despite the bad hair and makeup, simply for not wearing black tights!

    • kimmeister

Yes!  I half expected her to have mutant legs or something, since she’s always covering them up, but what do you know, they’re perfectly normal and lovely!

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2P2ANLRZ6YAVGONA36I2AQJYGI VicD

Yes, I will overlook the golden hooves, since they don’t come with black tights attached!

      Soclose, soveryclose.

  • janetjb

Make-up and hair; meet the harsh light of day…

  • schadenfreudelicious

the sparkles are appealing to my inner magpie, but the hair and makeup are awful…..

  • formerlyAnon

For her, pretty good. Hair & makeup are the weaker links, but a shot like this really emphasizes how specialized an art it is to do hair & makeup for what is essentially a formal evening look that is going to be photographed in broad daylight, out doors.

  • mhleta

Love the shape of the dress. The red belt is a good idea, but this particular belt looks like it goes with somebody else’s sailor dress. I feel there’s overkill on the sparkle/shine factor. Might have been better to tone it down on the shoes or the clutch. I like the spirit here, though. It’s more grown up than the Good Ship Lollipop offerings we’ve had in the past, but still has her sense of fun.

    • kimmeister

Yes, the clutch and the dress definitely compete with each other in the sparkle department.

  • littlemac8

Immediately looked to see if I could afford those earrings: Nope!

  • Sara__B

The belt is a great color but the wrong style, and her hair is much too casual and girly for such a sleek dress. So yes to the dress and no to the styling.

  • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

This is almost perfect! I’m SOOO glad she didn’t go with opaque tights. I don’t like the belt, but this silhouette is *perfect* on her.

The hair is terrible, though, and i don’t know who’s been doing her makeup, but she doesn’t look recognizable.

  • Karen Tully

So very tired of stripper shoes.

  • Hetha Innis

Don’t love the length of that hem, take an inch off and we can talk. Stripper shoes are getting old.

  • kikisayshi

The dress is chic, but she needs to do something else with her hair.

  • CassieLee22

love outfit, but what in the world is happening with that hair

  • nannypoo

Too much hair, the wrong belt, and the bag is too much like the dress. The dress is pretty and a nice departure from her usual style.

  • Vlasta Bubinka

Why the pouty face, you loopy thing, you? Do we haz a sad that we ran out of cream rinse or couldn’t find a Bump-it??

  • Scimommy

Finally a grown up dress that’s beautiful and flattering, as opposed to those… those… toddler dresses she usually favors.

  • MilaXX

Major step up. She needs a different bag, and the hair is a bit heavy, but ditching the tights is a major improvement.

  • NC_Meg

I feel like this belongs at a Christmas or New Year’s party. Even without the black tights, she looks like winter to me. (And the HAIR. I can’t.)

  • frannyprof

No black tights?! Wait–let me go into the backyard to check if hell has frozen over. Nope. Someone must have recently staged an intervention on her behalf.

  • 3boysful

I’m thinking the 8-yr-old girl manicure doesn’t quite jive with the adult dress.

    • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

I didn’t even notice the nails! Awful!

  • MarissaLG

Her hair looks terrible, and she just looks pretty awful overall.

  • quiltrx

I like the dress…but unless there’s a waist seam, this would look MUCH better without the belt.  I’m going to assume the wind was blowing outside the venue and give her a pass on the hair…it looks cute if it were smoothed down.

SO glad NO BLACK TIGHTS!!! Good on you, Zooey!

  • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gabriella M

Wow. Those are the most hoof-like shoes I’ve ever seen.

  • guest2visits

Wow; somebody said or did something not so nice. I feel bad for her.
Especially since I think she ruined the look with her choice of the belt and hair band.
Why not a skinny black belt; and put that hair up in something simple, or down in something sleek.
She’s got great hair but it’s just too heavy and unruly for this style of dress.  Too much, too fussy.
    She looks hot and weary.

  • Little_Olive

She looks like she went out last night looking cute and got drunk in that outfit. Didn’t come home and change.

And those are some of the ugliest shoes I’ve seen. Even counting beartraps.
Earrings are too bland for that dress.

  • Coralie Legister

Take off the hairband, stop pouting and did someone just rub a balloon on your head?

  • siriuslover

Very sophisticated for Zooey. Tame those locks, though.

  • kerry dee

no no no no no no no no no no!!!!!

  • MinasAunt

The silhouette is nice but I don’t like the belt, the shoes, or the hair.  The earrings are nice but they are are not enough for the look.  And, I mean this without snark, what is going on with her face?  The last couple of pictures I’ve seen of her don’t really look like her.  Is it a new makeup artist?  Is it no makeup artist?

  • SophieCollier

Yay!  Nothing twee about this look.  It’s sparkly, youthful and fits her well.

  • SewingSiren

I like everything except the belt, and even that’s not so bad.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1355527007 Rain Jezek

I’m surprised that the shoes go with the dress so well. Metallic shoes + metallic dress usually equals way too much metallic, but the dress is so varied that the shoes are picking up just one subtle color. The bag is a step too far, though. I think a bold red print with black and a smattering of gold would have been a more fun and balanced choice for the outfit. Also, hair up would have looked better with that makeup.

  • http://profiles.google.com/adj.blair Adriana Blair

I don’t really like it, but at least she isn’t wearing black tights!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1241487378 Lauren Lynch Fox

A girl from the 80′s loves anything sparkle! hate the belt….

  • unbornfawn

I really like that this look is a change-up for her, and I hope to see her continue to move away from the girly-twee stuff she usually wears. That said, the look is not without its problems. Hair and make-up are a mess, and I have to agree with the other bitter kittens who don’t like the belt. Can’t wait for those heavy platforms to run their course. Pretty good overall.

  • Larkin21

She became one of my “irrationally disliked” celebrities, even though I want to like her. She looks pretty good in these pics, though, and as a girl with lots of thick hair too, I actually appreciate her massive hair here.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

I love that dress.  I don’t love those shoes.  See how nice you look without the black tights Zoe?

  • sagecreek

    Another head tilt. Sigh.

  • Lisa Dugan

This is a great look for but I still want to shove her make-up artist.  It’s slightly better but still completely overdone.

  • http://twitter.com/delysia_lafosse Delysia LaFosse

For someone so adorable, she has not been doing well recently. Her makeup has been almost uniformly bad the last few times I’ve seen her, and she needs to think about trying a new hairstyle. Or, at the very least, brushing this one.

The dress is beautiful. The clutch is very pretty and the pumps are fine, I guess. However, the dress does not need a belt, and if it did, it wouldn’t be that one. The headband is ridiculous. Clutch and pumps are way too matchy. Also, what the FUCK is going on with her nail polish? Basically, this outfit is a mess, but I think we can all express relief that she left the black tights at home for once.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1401197785 Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

I’m betting her stylist “accidentally” ripped her tights in the limo and snuck her spare pair out of her purse. The dress is a nice departure for her, almost grown up. Love the idea of the red belt, but this was not the one to go with. Shoes are okay, bag is eh.

  • random_poster

I know we’re not supposed to comment on physical feature, but her amazing eye color always makes me stop and stare at close-up pictures of her.

Alas, Zoey’s not so mesmerizing in the fashion department.  The dress itself is great, as are the earrings (not that you can see them through her mop of hair).  The red belt and hair band are tragic.

  • Golfkat

I hate those teardrop peeptoe shoes with a vengeance. I don’t know what it is exactly, but they just seem WRONG to me. And I can only repeat what others have said a few times already: Can we please drop the stripper heels? I don’t get the need for massive platforms like that. It’s so unladylike.

  • marilyn

She looks great, as long as you don’t look at her too closely.  She was fine until she got to the belt, which is a great contrasting accessory.  However, she is otherwise wearing glitzy, shiny evening wear, and the belt is daytime, plain leather.  Just look quick and she is fantastic!

  • NICHOLAS PASQUALE

I am SO tired of her shtick. I can’t be the only one who feels that way, can I? The red belt is a nice accent to the dress, though. It distracts from those horrible shoes and that “JBF so I better slap a headband on that” hairdo.

  • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

She’s beginning to remind me of a brunette Charo, minus the talent.

  • http://twitter.com/flo_whytingale Florence Whytingale

train wreck! the belt is woeful. hair, make-up, and nails are also dire. shame, cause the dress is cute as.

  • Truly_Outrageous

Im really REALLY mad at her make up gay. Honey, fire him ASAP.
