This is actually really cute! Her hair looks nice, but I think it looks better when it is darker than this.

    • NC_Meg

I was thinking there is something “off” with her hair and now that you mention the color, I think that’s it. Her hair is normally much darker than this and I like it better darker.

  • BazoDee

Of course! (It had to be said)
I think her fashion mantra is mannequin. She manages to look soooo plastic these days -if they every remake that movie they should give her a call -which is sort of sad really she is quite talented.
That being said – it is a good shape for her and it is a nice length. Her make-up is subtle and flattering. Unfortunately her hair looks a little heavy on the extensions, and GF could use some accessories. No jewelry to speak of. And I hate the shoes. Wayyy to heavy for the dress and season. A nice sandal and the right accessories and this could have been a WERQ.

I was thinking the same thing. She always looks like she’s faking the smile.

    • MilaXX

odd fact. I used to live across the street from the house used in that movie

The dress is adorable, and for once isn’t too tight and/or too short and/or too low cut. I wish she would have kept the belt, and gone with some more interesting shoes.

And she needs to lay off the self tanner. She’s virtually unrecognizable.

  • LesYeuxHiboux

Adorable! Her hair looks good, the color is great on her, and she looks like a person I could tolerate having a conversation with. Well done (though I secretly wish for cuter shoes).

  • nannypoo

Very cute and unexpected for her. Now if she would just wipe that plastic smile off her face I might find her tolerable.

  • Little_Olive

    Is that her wax figure?

That made me think, she’d be terrific at the remake of Small Wonder “now with a smile”.

  • MinkaL

She looks really sweet. It’s a pretty dress and a great color for her. I really like it on her. Her hair is so gorgeous. I’m glad she kept it really simple. It is a day charity event. Also, Habitat for Humanity is one of my favorite charities so yay for her for that.

I wish I tanned as evenly as she does. Then again, I wish I had the money to lay about Cabo in tiny suits for a couple of weeks. My face and my arms are like an entirely different color right now.

  • Kristin McNamara

Compared to what this dress is doing on LM’s body, the runway version looks hideously boxy and heavy and, honestly, ugly (except for the color, which is gorgeous). It looks like the lining may have been removed for the Lea version (of course), and I can’t believe I’m about to say this… but I think it looks so much better (and lighter) that way!

  • Patricia Gillett

Did she raid Michelle Williams’ closet because I would never think a dress like this would be in Lea’s. This is cute but needs lighter shoes and a bit of bling somewhere. A bracelet, a ring, something.

    • raeb23

actually, it looks like she’s wearing a ring on each hand and i like her simple look for a daytime charity event. her unchanging smile does make her look a bit like a mannequin though.

  • CarolinLA

She has a look on her face that says “I’m SWEET, dammit!!!!”.

  • Coralie Legister

    SHINY!

  • AlexisPayne

Love the look and dress on her, hair too light and long, face is a little too shiny too. But like overall, maybe a sandal next time?

  • Sara__B

She looks cute and overly tan and about 14 years old, which is probably an improvement over her “of course” outfits.

  • Scarlet39

    The shoes are wrong

    • littlemac8

true, but are they better than silly putty: inquiring minds want to know!

  • formerlyAnon

She’s much better than usual, here.  The shoes are too heavy and next hurdle is how to accessorize for interest without going trashy, but baby steps are probably wise!

  • patticake1601

Looks perfect!  Color is fantastic on her skin, no belt was the way to go. Shoes are fug though.

  • http://twitter.com/lenabena_ Elena

Cute dress and great color for her, but the shoes suck.

  • GorgeousThings

    Of course.

I’m wondering if she got ding-ed too many times for going straight to ‘blue steel/sexy face’ and now she’s overcompensating by mega fake smiling. I do like the dress, especially the color. I’m okay with taking the belt off, and even with the dark shoes (even if they are out of season). I think that while the dress in monotone, it is still quite busy, so she was smart to keep everything else simple. I would love to see some toes though! It is summer! A peeptoe would have been cute, as long as it did NOT have the platform!

  • kingderella

how clever, its product placement! for her dentist!

no seriously, the dress is super cute but i just want to slap that stepford grin off her face. its like shes a character drawn by greg land.

  • http://twitter.com/kerrymccombs Kerry McCombs

That smile is so forced and fake it makes MY face hurt! But she looks cute.

  • Jessica O’Connell

I kind of really hate her hair with those highlights but she looks cute. Not a lot to it, but still cute.

  • Cousin_Rose

Perfect makeup, dress and hair. I would have ignored the shoes and given her a werq.

  • Julie Fountain

This is actually the best she’s looked in awhile. I like the bangs.  Hate the shoes.

  • MarissaLG

She looks adorable and so much better than usual!

  • LinXGUA

I think she needs a belt.
Her signature has a star. How cute.

    • littlemac8

Are you being sarcastic??  I hope.  Grown women don’t use smiley faces or hearts to dot “i’s” or stars under their signatures!

      • LinXGUA

        Yes, ‘of course’ i am!

        • littlemac8

So glad we’re on the same page!  Taste-wise and with TLo!!

          • LinXGUA

            (DAYS later): Thank you! Cheers!

  • guest2visits

Cute and summery; but just a little bit pose-y again.

  • quiltrx

“Look how virginal I look!  Look how shiny my hair and face are!  Look how fake my smile is!’

  • MilaXX

I like the dress better on the model. The belt and metallic shoe makes the dress look less twee.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=610791985 Aniela Marie Perry

Definitely my first thought. Needs the belt at least.

  • granddelusion

This is cute. Finally. Not crazy about the hair extensions.

  • siriuslover

that’s a surprising look for her. And it’s not a bad look.

  • Liverpoolgirl

The neckline on the model adds drama.  Her hairs spoils the effect.  It should be up.  The tanner has to go.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1401197785 Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

She looks positively demure! The dress looks great on her, though I wish she’d gone for something other than black pumps. And a belt. And some cute earrings. But other than that, nicely done!

  • GillianHolroyd

At first I thought: needs belt to define the waist although I think the model’s dress looks boxy. Then I realised the problem is with the neckline only you can’t see it with girlfriend here because her hair hides it. The square neckline is making the bodice look wide and the belt would just add another horizontal.

So she lucked out because the hanging-down-in-front hair creates a badly needed vertical to offset the width.

Love the color, needs some jewellery.

  • Fordzo

She looks like a wax statue of Lea Michele.

  • TLJezebel

Gorgeous dress, but it looks better on the model who hasn’t gone berserk with
    the tan in a can.

  • mom2ab

Hate the shoes, needs the belt- but all in all much better than the usual.

  • nancylee61

She looks adorable in this dress! And lovely, too! Great color on her, great length! Love her hair, too.

  • TieDye64

    Nice color. That is all.

  • http://twitter.com/stellaphone Stella Zawistowski

Am I the only one who thinks it looks like she found a cake-decorating set and squeezed bright blue icing all over herself? Then she was told, “Yes, you have icing all over yourself, but you have to smile anyway.”

  • NurseEllen

Why am I not surprised that she signs her name with a star flourish?

  • Larkin21

I agree with the criticisms on her hair color and her shoes but overall, I think she looks great. Very cute dress.

  • teensmom99

My teen bought almost the same dress @ Urban Outfitters around 7 months ago.  Not sure that there is any significant difference between the two dresses. I hope they don’t show up at the same bar mitzvah.

  • afabulous50

Love it.  I wish people would stop saying “of course”.

  • lilibetp

I wouldn’t put her in that shade of blue, but the dress is really cute.  Her hair is too light and the makeup looks greasy.  She needs cute sandals instead of those pumps.  I’m also not sure it doesn’t need a belt or something.

  • SignLadyB

    Much better than usual.

  • TheOriginalLulu

Not sure that hair really suits her, but it certainly is shiny. The dress is kind of ugly.

  • NICHOLAS PASQUALE

    Kind of frumpy.

  • http://twitter.com/nonchalantanna Anna

She took what should have been a new twist in texture and line on an old style and wiped it away of its new potential by making it as twee and plain as possible. Tsk tsk, Lea.
