Thank GOD she didn’t wear those shoes.

    • Coralie Legister

HAHAHAHA I had to scroll back up… you are so right.

  • http://twitter.com/Kathy_Marlow Kathy Marlow

It’d be lovely without the fringe, I know that is supposed to provide interest, but she looks like she’s molting.

  • joancarol

The dress looks like it has hair extensions.

  • greyhoundgirl

    Yeah…It’s kind of…hairy.

  • 3boysful

I LOVE it and think she looks phenomenal, but how hilarious that she’s posing with dumpsters as the backdrop!

    • makeityourself

But it’s still better than that Cointreau backdrop Miss Dita had to endure.
      Man, that sunlight is harsh.

If we turned her upside down, we could sweep with her. I *loathe* fringe on dresses. Particularly random fringe that makes no sense. Also, is her ass fringe blue? Or is it made of some different fabric? This is an OUT for me.

    • Kristin McNamara

That was setting off my ocd too! …that the two types of black fringe actually look like they’re two different blacks!

  • schadenfreudelicious

interesting, but a little too “mane and tail” for me

  • l3icest3r

This light, easy, breezy frock is from McCartney’s resort collection? Did I read that right?  :D

  • http://twitter.com/urban_gypsy Tess Danesi

I do not now nor will I ever like a hairy dress. I don’t get why it has longer cape-like fringe in the back. At least I’m not surprised to see this is a Stella McCartney.

  • BeeBeauNYC

Nothing like a picture next to a trash dumpster!

    • unbornfawn

Where else would you find a Stella McCartney dress?

  • Violina23

That gives her an unnatural looking shape. No go from my perspective

  • Joey Melliza

    WERQ it miss fantine

  • jw_ny

oh fringe…toss that dress in one of those conveniently placed dumpsters….

  • filmcricket

    This was my thought process:

    1) “Saw this on Go Fug Yourself yesterday, thought it was weird.”
    2) ::Looks at caption:: “Oh, it’s a Stella McCartney? Compared to the rest of her output, this is downright chic!”
    3) ::Looks at offical photo:: “This is a RESORT piece?! Also, WTF is with those shoes? That’s it, I quit earth.”

Isn’t it bad when you see an ugly dress and see it’s Stella’s and just go….OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH and roll your eyes.  Next.

      • mshesterp

When I see Stella McCartney on anyone, I go all Lea Michele judge-y–”Oh, OF COURSE.”

  • http://www.facebook.com/catherine.kronenwetter Catherine L Kronenwetter

Is it supposed to look like the fringe isn’t the same kind of black or a trick of the light?  It looks like she’s wearing separates from two different but similar outfits.  I like the “tucked in” look of the fringe on the model picture better…I think I just don’t like fringe

  • guest2visits

Thats it. No more black and white for awhile, Anne.  The Erdem was a nice change, and it looked great on you.
I missed her on Letterman; I would have liked to have seen it ‘for reals’ to know if it was better looking than it looks to me now.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

What the fuck is this shittery? No really? How is this even fashion? She looks RIDICULOUS. Who tucks in fringe?

  • Sara__B

That dress seems to have escaped from a production of the musical Thoroughly Modern Millie,  without the proper undergarments to let the fringe hang straight. Off stage, on the daytime city streets, it’s just silly.

    • mhleta

First thing I thought of. There’s a little montage in that movie where Julie Andrews is lamenting the fact that her bosomy frame prevents her string of pearls from sitting right. This dress gives AH a matronly bosom. Could she be pregnant?

  • formerlyAnon

I think it’s great. Not interesting or astonishing enough to be a WERQ, but really quite great.

But of course, I loved Chris March’s finale collection, especially the Gorey-esque black with the hair trim.

    • http://www.facebook.com/catherine.kronenwetter Catherine L Kronenwetter

I like the hair trim better than this!

      • formerlyAnon

Oh yes, I did as well. But I do tend to like odd black trim. This looks as if it would be very nice in motion.

  • MilaXX

Little more dressy than her we’ve seen her lately, but I bet this looks great moving. I DVR Dave & haven’t watched yet.

  • SpcilK

Hate it! This is bad on so may levels and it’s not her dress.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Ginny-Ellsworth/534496198 Ginny Ellsworth

The shoes on the model should be on Mila Kunis at ComicCon!

Along with pink anime hair extensions and a frilly pinafore!

  • MzzPants

    Go-go-tastic!

  • mhleta

We may not love the dress but she’s really worthy of a better backdrop than a dumpster in the summertime.

  • Jessica O’Connell

     Fringe?…but why?

And why is she suddenly dressing in dark colors all the time?

  • SewingSiren

The best looking Stella McCartney I have ever seen. And accessorized ever so much better than the model.

  • GillianHolroyd

So she’s going on a talk show where she’ll be sitting down on that awful back fringe? Or will she just sweep it to each side as if she were wearing white tie and tails? ugh.

Kudos for being photographed in strong daylight and still looking great (except for the hideous dress).

    • kimmeister

I can live with the fringe up top, but not with the butt fringe!

  • crash1212

Step 1: Take off hideous dress with SHIMMY lace (for god’s sake!); Step 2: Place it in a fire ring; Step 3: Douse with gasoline; Step 4: Strike match; Step 5: Stand back; Step 6: Find Stella and slap the sh*t out of her, then take her pencils, scissors, and any other designing tools she may have and stomp on them; Step 7: Lead her to an employment counselor so she can choose another career.

    Annie, you’re better than this.

  • http://twitter.com/kerrymccombs Kerry McCombs

    Fringe? No.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1208138556 Sara Munoz Munoz

Kind of an odd dress to wear while sitting down on TV. Unless she planned to shimmy to her seat.

  • marilyn

How Dave-She is posing in front of dumpsters.  I think her face is too old for the Audrey Hepburn look.  The pixie haircut ages her face.   The dressis a dowdy lump.  It does nothing for her figure.

  • Maluca

    This is NOT good.

  • Coralie Legister

What’s going on with the front? It’s so much hairier on her than on the model, who seems to have tucked it in. Is she trying to compensate for the hair she no longer has? I also hate that the fringes are two slightly different shades.

  • LinXGUA

The upper back is kind of cute. Enh. Ok, ok.
Remember when she used that half dress that was on trend on 2009 and she aced it? (because she’s beautiful.)
Well, this is the same kind of fugly. But she can’t pull it off now. Because it’s frickin’ McCartney.

  • aristida_girl

    I love it! Very fresh..

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1355527007 Rain Jezek

God those are fantastic shoes. Hathaway’s, not the model’s. The dress looks better with the fringe tied in, as the model is wearing it. Otherwise it’s just way too messy. She’s posing for photographers and it’s still sliding all over. The butt fringe though, no. Just, no. A step too far.

  • quiltrx

I always love having my picture made where I can smell baby shit and sour milk.  Nice ‘guest entrance’, Dave.

And she looks good, but I’m pretty sure this isn’t her dress.  As with most Stellas, I’m not sure WHOSE dress this is.

  • TieDye64

Pole dancing in front of dumpsters. Ugh. Maybe kinda cute, but I’m not digging the fringe.

  • http://twitter.com/flo_whytingale Florence Whytingale

the outfit is gorgeous but goddam did she miss the mark with the shoes. also, if you’re going to rock the short hair (which I really think she is), you need to take the makeup up a notch. gloss, girl!

  • SophieCollier

That is an ugly dress.  She is lovely, but she’s wearing an ugly dress.

  • Aurumgirl

Nothing says “fashion victim” like that dress.  Except that dress, shown on the model, with those plastic shoes.

  • Larkin21

Man, she looks tall. I think I like the defined waist on the model better, though.

  • Solokitty

Gotta just say: if Anne Hathaway can’t really pull it off, it’s just a bad design.  I have yet to see a Stella McCartney design that even approaches good.  Truly, the only reason she is such a famous designer is her name via daddy.  Can’t be for the clothes.

  • NICHOLAS PASQUALE

You know, she really is pulling it off. I’m not sure anyone else could. But those ass-tassles need to die. Now.
