NY TIMES SQUARE OUTDOOR RUNWAY EVENT


WHAT: For the first time ever in Project Runway history, New York’s famed Times Square will be the stiletto stomping ground for a LIVE runway show to kick off the 10th season of Project Runway. As part of the season’s premiere episode, the public will get to see the creativity and innovation from a new crop of designers as their garments walk down the runway in Times Square.

WHO: Project Runway host Heidi Klum, mentor Tim Gunn, judges Michael Kors, Nina Garcia and 16 of the most talented, new designers from across the nation.

WHEN: Friday, June 15th, 2012, at 8pm ET.

WHERE: Times Square
Northern Triangle
Between 46th and 47th Streets, Broadway and Seventh Ave

 

Project Runway’s 10th season premieres Thursday, July 19, at 9pm ET/PT on Lifetime.

      The stilt walking (trainwreck) challenge was the first public challenge – this will be first LIVE challenge, if I get it right. But, it would be completely reasonable if they wanted to forget that circus show.

      Perhaps they mean it to be true only as a sum of all of its parts: so it’s the first Project Runway premiere episode runway show to take place live in Times Square.

    I’m still on board for this potential train wreck. But living on the left coast, no, I won’t be going in person.

      Same here, I am in California.  I still love the show but the last couple of seasons seemed a little more staged than usual.

         You’re being gracious.  The last two seasons were transparently obvious with regard to the back stage machinations to create a particular outcome.  But something about it all is still compelling for me.

       I’m 2 hours away . Years ago would have been there with bells on. Now  I don’t true the show to be worth the trip.

         I would only be fun to watch the fug roll out.  Unless, (heavens preserve us all)  They actually LISTENED to the criticism they have been getting, and re-tooled the show.

          It would be great to get a group of PUFs together for this event. The thing is standing out in Time Square all day long isn’t as much fun as it may sound at the moment. Now, catching a few glimpses of this mess and then retiring to a lounge for adult beverages, that sounds delightful.

       Absolutely!  I haven’t watched PR regularly since Season 5, but I never miss TLo’s commentary!

      Me too. I quit PR after “hand-cut chevrons” stole her season and then only read about Anya on TLo without watching any of that. I couldn’t make it past five episodes of All-Stars. It’s all too painful now.

    So it’s live, in June, but will be taped, to show in July.  That’s not live in my book.  Live is a 5-second delay for beeping the f-bombs.

    I haven’t even gotten through the last few seasons without quitting the show and just reading the TLO Recaps… Same with TopChef although I don’t get the recaps of course (and don’t care)… If it wasn’t for RuPaul… I’d literally have no more reality contest shows to watch… and that is downright un-American!!
