This is a really unexpected look for her! I think she looks stunning (although I don’t like fishtail gowns, think the fit could be better and don’t like her hair). Love the cranes.

  • J MN

She needs a darker necklace so she doesn’t look so washed out and – a Tiara of course!

  • Patricia Gillett

A little much but it fits the event. Hate the hair.  When Elton’s backup wig looks better than your ‘do, you’ve got problems, girl.

  • antheapena

Naomi & lady Elton’s hair match the fishtail dress!

  • http://twitter.com/Lily1129 Lily

Damn girl. It’s unusual for her, which is why I think I like it so much.

  • http://vhanna26.typepad.com Vera

Not a fan of Marchesa, but Naomi is owing this. Not feeling the hair though.

  • GillianHolroyd

Can you imagine walking around on that grass with a tulle train? oy vey.

       my thoughts exactly

  • schadenfreudelicious

it doesn’t seem to fit her well through the bodice (though that could just be due to the off kilter way she is posing), not loving the hair and a darker lip perhaps?

  • http://twitter.com/lenabena_ Elena

The dress kind of looks like it has creepy, witch hands on it. Not sure if I like it. The hair is also strange.

  • Liverpoolgirl

Dress is ugly, doesn’t fit.  Colorist over processed the hair and the necklace is all wrong!  Tulle is nice.

  • Lina_bee

Hate the tulle. The necklace might work if done in jet instead. The rest has potential. Mainly I’m flabbergasted at seeing her all dressed up. Usually she goes with the most casual level of hippie chic that she can get away with…or else jeans and t-shirts. I hope Elton told her she looked stunning because it’s true.

    • littlemac8

Naomi was very stylish before she had kids.  She wore high fashion beautifully and effortlessly.  I, too, love the crane fabric.  That is all.

  • Anathema_Device

They look like they’re filming a 1930s musical with the floofy dress and those tuxes. Did they just lift her by the elbows and carry her to that spot? (Although, she couldn’t really dance in that thing.)

Don’t dig the dress. I’m a little over the mermaid silhouette, and this is so typically Marchesa it could have come from any of their collections at any time.

  • gabbilevy

I wish there were photos when she didn’t have her arms up around Elton and David. I don’t know about you ladies, but my dresses fit fine until I decide to raise my arms behind me–exactly like this.

(A quick search online revealed photos where it looked better.)

  • Jessica O’Connell

While I think she looks fabulous and love getting to see pictures from Elton John’s ball, I mostly just want to tell you both to go have a fun Saturday – don’t worry about posting here :-) . Have a good weekend. Stay in A/C as much as possible!

I was prepared the to like the dress based on the thumbnail.

Then I saw the whole thing and was prepared to hate it.

Then I realized that it was for an Elton John event and was prepared to give it a pass.

Then I realized that Sir Elton himself is wearing a perfectly normal white tie & tails.

    Then I saw his shoes.

  • MilaXX

Typical Marchesa, but it works here. Nothing earth shattering, but she looks okay.

  • allisankelly

Wow. Not good. Do not like the dress at all and it looks like birds are clawing at her. This feels very Sally Kirkland to me.

  • http://twitter.com/katshimmers Kat Wright

    LOVE Elton’s shoes though!

  • fringebenefit

She looks terrific, but David and Elton still outshine her. They look so robust and healthy.

  • quiltrx

Beautiful gown, but somehow the tulle looks tacked-on.

    LOVE Elton’s shoes!

  • LesYeuxHiboux

Not a great fit on the bust, and the hair is not doing her any favors at all, but I’ve never seen her look so memorable. She looks very pink, but I’m not sure it’s a bad thing. She should dress more dramatically more often, maybe she would have a career like Nicki Kidman’s.

  • FlamingJune1967

Marchesa clothes are ugly.  That is all.

  • Saucysusan

It’s a matter of personal taste but I dislike tulle. I really don’t like anything about this look.

  • Sara__B

This is better than most Marchesa gowns, I guess, and it’s appropriate for a black tie event. She looks fine, but she’d look better with more color in her gown and lips and with a different shade of blonde hair.

  • alyce1213

    Marchesa crap again.

  • greyhoundgirl

Ha-ha!  I thought it was Elton and David’s wedding and she was the bride!

  • formerlyAnon

She looks wonderful. Given how she’s standing I can’t say if the fit of the bodice is a bit off or not, and I don’t love love the hair (I probably would if it were darker) – but all quibbles are washed away in my admiration for the fabric. Though I’d rather the bottom fooforall were silk rather than tulle, that is just a personal preference.

Actually, if her hair weren’t so harshly yellow & the necklace was pearls accented with the stones (diamonds?), I’d think it was as darn near perfect as you could get with that dress.

  • SophieCollier

She’s lovely and it’s such a cool dress.  That has got to be a very awkward pose to be in while wearing a stiff-bodiced strapless gown, however.  She’s hunched down to keep decent.  LOL

  • shopgirl716

    Too mermaid.  Not feeling it.

  • unbornfawn

Who cares about her? David and Sir Elton look smashing!

  • TSkot

Possibly the most ridiculously looking dress of the year.

  • PaulaBerman

I’m going to go against the grain and say that this dress is ugly, and Naomi’s styling isn’t helping.

If you’re going to stand between some world famous queens, best put your best drag on. Could have used a little more hair and makeup to achieve this.

  • LinXGUA

    To Sir Elton John:
You are beautiful and I love you. Oh, and please find a tailor. Your pants are crying.
    All of my love,
    Linda.

  • TieDye64

I think this is a stunning look on her. Really stunning, though I think there may have been a better necklace choice. Nitpicking.

  • marilyn

This is what you wear when you are partying with Sir Elton John.  However, the top is way too big.  Where is the kleenex to fix that?

  • http://twitter.com/nonchalantanna Anna

I feel like I’m watching these three remake “Diamond’s Are A Girl’s Best Friend”.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Erin-Hines/620149309 Erin Hines

Wow. Dress is ugly and the hair is a drag queens nightmare. Her boobs have wings on them, and I hate dust ruffle dresses.

  • MK03

I feel like I can’t see the dress well enough to form an opinion.

  • Rand Ortega

Standard Marchesa. Yawn. More important, Sir Elton looks fantastic! Has he lost some weight since his health scare last month?

  • Cathy S

I don’t like the gown. Marchesa is almost always too too much. David Furnish looks great though.

  • Judy_J

I liked it up until I got to the part where the white netting comes gushing out from around her knees.

  • Scarlet39

Don’t like the dress.  The design makes it look as if she has a series of little paws groping her.
