It’s a very pretty dress ruined by a sash made of pubes.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1359847704 Maureen LePiane

“Sash made of pubes.”  I just died laughing.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2P2ANLRZ6YAVGONA36I2AQJYGI VicD

Yes, I was thinking that sash looked rather … furry.  You nailed it!  LOL

    • Kristin McNamara

YES! like those toupee things they made commercials for on SNL! hahaha

    • TieDye64

Oh gawd, I can’t unsee it! Bahaaaaaaaaa.

    • Judih1

You are too funny! Great line

    • http://www.facebook.com/ali.sharpe.6 Ali Sharpe

Words directly out of my mouth.

  • ChaCha_70

No complaints here. Really pretty…even the tattoo!

    • Violina23

I disagree, I think the tattoo brings down the classiness several notches because she’s essentially pretending it’s not there, and it looks like it’s being ‘covered up’. Otherwise I like it quite a bit!

      • JasmineAM

Yea it’s being covered up with 90% of it still showing.

    • TieDye64

      Yep, I agree.

  • http://twitter.com/sharynglow Sharyn

I usually think she looks awful with bad hair – this is big IN, she looks great.

  • jw_ny

Very pretty…why the fur balls are on the front is beyond me though.  strange.  It’s like you want to just appreciate how lovely she looks overall, but can’t stop looking at and questioning why she has a monkey on her tummy.  Love the way the back accentuates her tattoo.

  • Judy_J

Pretty dress, however, the back looks like curtains parting to show off her tattoo.

  • SpcilK

    She looks lovely!

  • Sara__B

    Tribbles!

    • formerlyAnon

      Slightly squished tribbles.

    • Louise Bryan

Ah yes, the trouble with tribbles that look like pubes.  Otherwise she is amazingly gorgeous.

  • MilaXX

Pretty look, but I don’t like the earrings. I don’t mind the back tat, but her spine looks weird and I hate that I can see her spine.

  • janedonuts

    What a hideous tattoo.

  • marilyn

She is a beautiful young woman.  This dress is too old and fussy for her.  If it had a back I would call it a MOB (Mother of Bride) dress, or a cotillion mom dress.  I am not enchanted with tatoos.  i think that they are good for identifying dead bodies, and for the police to id her the next time she gets arrested.  Also, in the ’60′s, iv drug users had them so they could shoot up without leaving needle marks.  None of this convinces me that tattoos are positive in any way.   I think the tatts detract from the look in an immature way.  IMHO.

    • AthenaJ

Tattoos can actually be very beautiful and artistic, and they can symbolize something very deep and personal for the wearer. I do agree that Mena’s tattoo doesn’t seem to fit into any of these categories (it screams of ‘trying to hard’), however please don’t make accross the board judgements about tattoos or the people who wear them. I have lots of marks all over from scars and stretch marks, and my tattoo is the one thing that I actually got to CHOOSE to put on my body. And no, I’m not an IV drug user, have never been arrested, and hopefully, no one will ever have to use it to identify my corpse!

  • LesYeuxHiboux

What a hideous tattoo. It’s like a patch of skin fungus under that lovely gown. The dress itself looks better from the back, that furry sash is making her look wider, and it’s…furry.  Love the makeup and earrings, but the hair really emphasizes her high forehead in a way that I’m not sure is flattering.

  • holdmewhileimnaked

beautiful dress, probably shoulda lost the tribbles.

  • JasmineAM

Everyone on this site seems to hate tattoos! Geez.

    • PaulaBerman

She has a lion on her neck with the words WORD SOUND POWER under it. Personally, I find it painfully inane and unattractive. But we’re all here to judge, and tattoos are fashion, so it’s fair game.

      • TheOriginalLulu

Agreed. I also feel that they are fair game and don’t understand why people get so sensitive. It baffles me that people want to go online and post on message boards and blogs, but they refuse to accept the fact that other people may have different opinions than they do. What would be the be the point of a discussion if we all had the exact same opinion about everything anyway?

  • http://twitter.com/Glo_Coat Glo Coat

I love the earrings, makeup, and revealed tattoo. Dress is pretty (minus the frayed edges on the sash that come across looking furry). Girl, can we talk about your roots though? Majorly distracting.

  • LambeeBaby

She looks beautiful. Makeup is great. The gown is soft and lovely. Perfectly stylized.

  • DaringMiss

Hair is aging and the eye makeup is overdone, but I love the dress.   I wonder what it would look like in a color.

  • Kristin McNamara

does anybody know what happened there on her spine? looks like she’s got scars…

    • quiltrx

I was wondering if that is a birthmark near her left elbow in that same picture, or if she just has a boo boo.

  • TSkot

How stupid that back is with that ink.  C’mon ladies, dress for your tattoos.

  • http://profiles.google.com/sara.e.munoz Sara Munoz

I wouldn’t say the tattoo ruins the look…. but I don’t think it looks good.
Otherwise, she looks amazing. Best she’s ever looked.

  • Lisa Dugan

She looks soft and beautiful. I’m never a fan of tiered dresses, especially asymmetrical drape-like ones, but that’s my only quibble.  The back is beautiful as well.

  • formerlyAnon

Frilly for my tastes. And those furry medallions(?) or whatever? Just inexplicable.

But she comes thisclose to pulling off regal and elegant despite them. She does pull off lovely, so good enough.

  • quiltrx

I’m good with this from the waist up.  Then it all goes off the rails.

She, herself, looks really lovely here.  Nice makeup, pretty earrings, LOVE the classic-film hair.

  • Lina_bee

Terrible belt. Weird hair. Irritating makeup. Also, I just don’t get her.

    • kimmeister

People with extremely prominent foreheads should never wear their hair with a lot of volume on the top of their heads.  Eeks.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Sarah-Adams/1143985903 Sarah Adams

Honey, your merkin is showing. And it’s upside down.

  • judith traherne

    full-on Tippi Hedren. Nice.

Her spine looks like it’s been badly cloned in Photoshop.

  • Scarlet39

I know tats are a matter of personal taste, but for me, all that ink looks ridiculous.  And kind of ugly.

  • SophieCollier

The cut of the dress is really pretty.  I don’t much like the pube-roses on the belt but the rest of her dress/hair/makeup is very classy.  The tattoos sort of ruin the illusion, but whatever.

  • jmorino08

Dont’t know which is more hiddy – that belt or that tattoo?!!

  • Lilak

Not crazy about the small animals pinned to the front of the belt . . . But the full-length back view is just lovely (helped by the fact that the tattoo really doesn’t bother me at that distance).

  • guest2visits

She looks beautiful; gorgeous dress.  Am I the only one who wishes she didn’t have a large manly tat on her neck ?

  • Bree The Vole

    Dear Mena Suvari,

You look great, but you’re still no Aeris Gainsborough. Sorry!

  • http://onionjam.tumblr.com SkipperJane

It’s like her blood is full of ink and someone stabbed her three times in the torso.

  • http://twitter.com/SparklyCasanova UglyCasanova

Too many curtains for the window there.

  • melanie0866

Something funny about the hair and heavy eyeliner that’s making her forehead look freakishly large.  And the tattoo is tacky.  Dress is pretty except for the bunny tails on the front.
