The shoes do not go with that dress at all.  They’re also super matchy to the clutch.  And what’s going on with her left hand, is that the world’s tiniest bracelet or is it a tattoo?

    • pattyw

This! Was just going to post myself that dress and shoes do not belong together. As for the bracelet — I thought she had stitches in her hand. Doubt that’s the look she was going for.

God, MLP sure does work the Manic Pixie Dreamgirl persona at all times, huh?  Still, no complaints here.  Love the color, the floaty way it lays, the white and gold shoes.  The white and gold clutch bumps up against Too Matchy-Matchy for my tastes… but doesn’t cross the line.  Good job, Nancy… now run ahead before you tee-tee yourself, sweetie.

  • OhSayNow

She looks like she is about to topple over.

  • Lina_bee

This is an egregiously, “Book me! Book me!” sort of outfit. I know that’s the point of dressing for the RC in the first place, but this look is like she hired a whole goddamned marching band to blare her wonders to the world.

  • greyhoundgirl

Her face is looking very worked on in these–is this true?

    • NC_Meg

She does look a bit different. She is SO gorgeous, I hope she’s not getting work done.

  • Imasewsure

That first picture is so ackward and wrong… along the lines of “what the h*** am I doing here” and she is too old for this look/toga/shower curtain… just weird

  • Knightley

Purple bedsheet.  Love the look from the neck up though.

  • Lisa Dugan

She looks very pretty but I think she needed an inch or two more on that dress.  She also looks like she’s going to topple over in those shoes.

Jennifer Aniston is now on a mad hunt for her XL purple bath towel.

  • TieDye64

Looks like tie-back curtains from a little girl’s room, and the shoes look rather silly with this.

Yup, classic example of mutton dressed as lamb.

      • amf0001

yes,  I was going to go with my ‘mutton’ comment but you said it first…. it just makes her look older and less sexy,  when she is a great age and super sexy!

  • Sara__B

She does not look confident and comfortable in her purple toga, perhaps because it’s so short. Pretty lady. Awful outfit.

  • TheOriginalLulu

I think she looks pretty, but unfortunately she also looks terribly uncomfortable. It’s ruining everything.

  • formerlyAnon

Not pulling it off, in my book. It’s an Extreme Silly Cute with a Potential Edge of Sexy (which she manages to completely negate, IMO) look &, sorry girl, you’re too old for it. At least in broad daylight.

    • rh33

Maybe she’s trying out for the Real Housewives of the Red Carpet. Just add crazy eyes, a bottle of Pinot Gris and she’s in!

    47. FOURTY SEVEN FREAKING YEARS OLD.

    work it out, girl.

  • http://profiles.google.com/sara.e.munoz Sara Munoz

    Ooooohhhhhh, no.

  • ThaliaMenninger

So wearing a shiny purple bath towel with a flounce from Barney on the red carpet is now the thing to do? Uh, no. MLP, go home and rethink your bath towel, its oversize flounce, your shoes, your hair, your clutch, and your outlook on life.

  • SignLadyB

That is definitely a strange looking choice from top to bottom!

  • raininmai

It is a lovely shower curtain she’s wrapped around herself and the color is gorgeous on her!

  • aeg66

Less on top, more on bottom next time, darling.

  • LesYeuxHiboux

    I hope it’s not breezy.

  • guest2visits

    Maybe if the dress were longer it would balance out the pile of purple on her shoulder. The clutch is nice but I hate those shoes;
they don’t go, and neither does her polish.  Pretty, but a little lost looking.  Botox smile.

  • MilaXX

This could have been cute if she had worn the right shoe. This needs a strappy sandal, not these heavy clod hoppers

  • random_poster

I read “Mary Louise” and thought I’d see Meryl Streep.  That is NOT Meryl!

  • Warrior89

Eh to all of the accoutrements, but she looks pretty and her hair looks good.

  • quiltrx

It was all great when I could only see down to her waist.  Then it all goes kind of askew.

    Dress cute. Shoes tragic.

  • jmorino08

So maybe it is a glorified bed sheet, but I think she looks sassy and sexy! Except for those shoes. Those are just wrong.

  • jcolli69

The dress is fine, but in more of a happy-hour-with-the-girls way rather than for red carpet. Those shoes look hella uncomfortable…I am SO sick of platforms! Why can’t starlets wear some fancy, sexy strappy heels? Do they feel more on top of their soapboxes in platforms or something??

  • Aurumgirl

I am fairly sure this is a woman who is over 40 years of age and probably has a couple of children, but every pose on the red carpet is stereotypical “suggestive pre-teen minx”, right down to the pidgeon-toed stance.

No seriously, I saw this dress at every department store when I was out dress shopping a few days ago.  What’s with all the shittery on one arm?  I love her as an actress, but this is just not working for her.

  • mozzer0906

Hate the shoes.  Hate them.  Passion of 1000 suns hate.

  • shopgirl716

cute.  She’s about my age and looks amazing.

  • Patricia Gillett

I am so done with fugly platform sandals.

  • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

With different shoes, this could have been a WERQ.

  • lesmaha

    kewpie doll.
