the dress is cute but she needs to fix her hair, makeup and shoes. especially the shoes.

  • Lina_bee

Blah. Dunno what changed, but this year she seems very lackluster.

    • amf0001

I totally agree.. she’s lost that shiny superstar edge and just looks average now…  (and with weirdly scrawny hair,  she needs to volume it up somehow)

I don’t know. She doesn’t look especially good or bad to my eye. I’d stand next to her. A bit casual, but pfft, it’s summer. The clutch is a bit wrong for the look though – would have been nice to see a contrasting color or something a little more whimsical.

    • Sara LaBatt

I love “I’d stand next to her.”  That made me laugh.  I think it’s a fine dress, but I agree, not particularly good or bad.  A shame she covered the interesting strap feature with her hair.

  • schadenfreudelicious

did someone just yank all of her extensions out or something?… that hair looks very lank and sparse….

  • jw_ny

Those shoes are very pretty with no foot in them..ugly as sin on her feet.  The dress is really cute, but seems more appropriate for a night out at the club, and her hair is a disaster.

  • MilaXX

Cute dress but I hate those shoes with it. I guess this will officially be the summer of heavy footwear.

Kind of boring. The interest in the straps is lost with her not-so-cute hair covering it.

  • VicksieDo

Bet those shoes hurt!  Look at her pained expression.  And I HATE the hair color.

    • VicksieDo

      The dress is cute though.

  • Allison Woods

Fug dress, fug shoes, fug hair. I expect a lot more from young Ms. Meester.

This looks better on Leighton than it does on the model. It’s not particularly exciting, but it’s cute and fits, and for Leighton, that’s quite an accomplishment.

  • jmorino08

At least she dressed for the background!!

  • MzzPants

‘My crotch is a black cloud of darkness!’

Her hair covers the most interesting part of the dress. It’s a very pretty tie-dye, and the colors work great on her, but considering this is a film premiere, in which she is presumably featured, she could’ve dressed it up with a gold belt and sandals, and some jewelry.

  • jfrancais

She’s blending into the backdrop. Overall it’s very “meh.”

  • ThaliaMenninger

She looks awkward and uncomfortable. Which is weird, because the dress doesn’t look too constricting or too revealing or anything that should be causing her discomfort, and the shoes are cute. Okay, so she has a fivehead and her hair is limp and her dress has TIE-DYE on it. But still… She’s a starlet. She is doing the opposite of selling this outfit.

  • guest2visits

Seriously, ?  This looks like something to wear to the beach. Except the shoes; they belong with a nicer dress.

  • Sara__B

She’s wearing expensive designer duds, yet manages to look completely ordinary with not a glimmer of star quality. She’s pretty, but unremarkable.

the hair looks dead, her dress blends into the background and with that face, so is she

  • Scarlet39

    That dress looks incredibly cheap

  • Sophie Collier

If the focal point of your dress is the shoulder straps, don’t wear your hair down your shoulders.  Not loving the fabric print, but it’s all right.  Probably would have been cuter a couple of inches longer.

red carpet = put some effort into your appearance.
the shoes are just awful with that dress.
and for pete’s  sake, comb your hair!

  • KELLEYKAT

Total pet peeve for me…when the dress holds some sort of detail (interesting or not) at the shoulder and these celebs wear their boring limp hair down and cover the detail!  If I were the designer, I’d be so annoyed! :-)

  • TheOriginalLulu

It’s a really cute dress and she looks fantastic in it, but I don’t know if it’s the right dress for an event, even though it’s just a premiere. I would love it if this were a Girl on the Street post.

  • holdmewhileimnaked

i didnt know people still tie dyed sheets.

  • kimmeister

Dress is cute, but too casual for a premiere.
Those shoes can’t help but give everyone cankles.
Don’t like the lowlights or whatever you want to call the ombre effect in her hair.

  • Nonnah

What is going on with her?  She’s getting that “glazed” Mischa Barton look.

  • TieDye64

Blue flames, shitty hair, unflattering shoes. Yawn.

  • LinXGUA

    Honey, no.
I don’t like the print on the dress. It screams hippie beach. I know it’s summer, but that’s what i wear on the beach, not to a premiere. My, those are some horrible shoes: they make the ankles look wide so it creates the illusion that all the leg is the same width. She’s wearing a wonderful smile, nonetheless.

  • Sally Brownson

Adorable dress, stupid shoes, and she looks really tired.

  • http://www.facebook.com/ali.sharpe.6 Ali Sharpe

Not super-flattering. Gives her a weird case of teardrop-boob. It’s the sort of dress you can already tell people would see twenty years from now and go, “Lol, remember 2012?”
