The proportions are all wrong. That dress needed to be hemmed about a foot shorter. Not digging the hair as well.

    • Michaela Tuckova

Considering the beading, I think it would be flat out impossible to hem this dress. She’s simply too short for it to be flattering. Too bad, because the embroidery is breathtakingly gorgeous.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Lucía-Gavello/1253586868 Lucía Gavello

That’s true, I also wish she had kept the belt, and that oompa loompa hair is beyond bad.

  • http://twitter.com/Lily1129 Lily

At least a good 6in too long, and the hair is odd. But I do love this outfit on her; it suits her.

    • HomeOfficeGirl

Agree about the length.  But I do love this on her too!  I’m not a big fan of her usual look – and usually her hair is a mess – so I actually think her hair up is an improvement – at least adds some polish to match the dress which is gorgeous!!

    • http://twitter.com/bredalot Bridget Smith

I get why they couldn’t hem it, what with all the embellishments (are those ACTUAL PEARLS?), but it’s a real damn shame, as you’re right: this would’ve been smashing on her at the right length.

  • http://twitter.com/TheRedZavodnik Ginger

What a horribly unflattering length…even on someone with a body like hers!  And is it really that difficult to find shoes that fit?  Don’t even get me started on the Conehead hair.

    • TheDivineMissAnn

       Conehead hair.  My first thought.

And that dress length is flattering on only a very, very few women.  Otherwise it’s a pretty dress.

      • 3boysful

The moment I saw the thumbnail, I was wondering where Jane Curtain was!  (Showing my age!)

Gorge dress, but she’s not tall enough for it!

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2P2ANLRZ6YAVGONA36I2AQJYGI VicD

That’s all I can see – she’s a cinch to play Connie Conehead if they make a sequel

    • vanjar

I was thinking egghead, but conehead works too.

  • In_Stitches

Oh honey no, what were you thinking?  You’re too short for this and no pair of pumps can fix that.  Nice pumps though, maybe ‘forget’ to send them back?

Oh, now I’ve made you sad.  I have a CBGB shirt in my bag and some scissors and, that’s right, a whole mess of safety pins.  We’ll make you something nice.

  • schadenfreudelicious

    Bedazzled conehead…..

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Ginny-Ellsworth/534496198 Ginny Ellsworth

    Wow, she looks really stupid.

I’m sorry, I know that is rude but it was the first thing that popped into my head.

  • Hetha Innis

Way too much dress for her. Might have worked as a short skirt, but it’s overall just too heavy for her tiny frame. Maybe it shouldn’t be, but it’s weird to me that actresses have to basically be models now. She is a petite little thing who mostly looks awkward and uncomfortable wearing high fashion/posing for pictures, and yet that’s now a huge part of the job. She’s just not a clothes horse and can’t really pull of such major “looks” in my opinion.

    • MilaXX

This is why I can’t completely hate on the celebs that play it safe.  This is not a dress for mere mortals and KStew is way outside her fashion lane.

  • lilibetp

No.  And then there’s the stance, which looks like she’s trying to air something out…

  • CassieLee22

so much here is just wrong

  • nannypoo

    Bizarre.

  • moppet

Oh my gosh. I’m polly-anna ish and I like to believe every look has something good to go with the bad, but I am so taken aback by the poor hair styling here that it’s hard for me to notice anything else. This is not her best look, I think.

Edited to add: here’s something nice — those are cool shoes. Get yourself a pair in a size that fits you and then you’ll be in business.

  • Jecca2244

I think if i was a celeb with a ton of money I’d at least buy my own shoes. maybe not my dresses, but shoes yes. there is nothing worse than shoes that don’t fit.

    • amf0001

it’s interesting that Duchess Kate is getting flack because she is wearing the same shoes all the time,  but I totally get why… you find shoes that are comfortable for 8 hours of standing,  you want to wear them again!  This wrong size, too big (bearable) too small (not!) pretty shoes that you immediately change for ballet flats once the photos are done is just weird to me.

  • RzYoung

Hmm, it’s super interesting to look at and I like the mad hair, the length is horrid though…but I’d hate it if it were super short. Maybe 3 inches off the skirt would improve it for me.

She seems to be getting a little more into the fashion thing and seems more confident no?

    • RzYoung

…just seen the detailing on the skirt, there’s no way that could be hemmed for her. Should’ve mixed up the top with a different skirt or…TROUSERS

  • siriuslover

Unusual? It cuts her legs off! The color is pretty, but I like it better with the belt from the runway. And even then, the length is awkward.

  • l3icest3r

This looks like it came from World Market.

  • http://www.thechipsterdiaries.blogspot.com/ Jess the Chipster

Weird hair – is it in a top knot or a pouf or both? Why is it so frazzly? Maybe the dress would look better if she wasn’t posing with her knee bent. Oh and def better with the belt as opposed to that rando strip of skin

  • http://twitter.com/stellaphone Stella Zawistowski

Oh lordy. Nothing about this is right.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Micaela-Cannon/1465504041 Micaela Cannon

This could be knock out if it was hitting her knees, rather then binding them together like some bejeweled body-length Chinese finger trap.

  • sleepycat

Love this look, however, it is too long, but how do you hem this?

  • JenniferSzczublewski

The length is TERRIBLE on her. As is that Coneheads hair.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Sarah-Friedman/100002363116424 Sarah Friedman

Her makeup is gorgeous! She doesn’t look as tired as she did on the stateside portion of the poledance.

  • Kyle Crawford

Lovely dress and I am sure a lovely woman , wrong together – do you think flats could have made it a little bit better ?

  • jilly_d

That hem length is just god awful and the hair is so bad it’s not worth commenting about, BUT this kind of look suits her to a T, I love the embroidery and she looks like she’s HAPPY AND COMFORTABLE in it!  Praise Jeezus, it’s a miracle!

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_N75LLUHGJEGCGJ3HZAXEB3MBJI Deen

As was mentioned earlier, she looks like a Conehead. LOVE the shoes and the dress would be AWESOME on someone taller.

  • BuffaloBarbara

I love the beading details, but K-Stew for some reason decided to interpret the dress as a large towel, and looks like she threw it around herself as she got out of the shower.

  • Judy_S

Audition for Bride of Frankenstein, graduating from vampires.

  • pugluv

The dress would suit a woman who is 5 ft 10 or more while it just looks awkward on her.  The hair is just awful and very unflattering.  The shoes compete with the dress…a more airy strappy sandal would look better…

  • http://twitter.com/susanpcollier Susan Collier

It would help if she straightened the top.

  • TheOriginalLulu

The dress is nice, but the length is so unflattering.
The shoes are gorgeous, but too much with this dress.
Whoever talked her into that conehead hair needs to be severely reprimanded.
Also, why is she standing there with her knees bent like she’s about to sit down?

  • anotherkate

Really pretty, but the length is all wrong on her. Love the hair and makeup, too!

  • jw_ny

Is her next role as Connie Conehead?

The skirt needs to be shortened, but can’t because of the pattern.  It’s just not her skirt…not any woman’s skirt that’s not 5′-9″ or more.  The top looks nice on her.  Hate the shoes with this outfit too.

edit…geesh, I really should read through comments 1st…all ^ has been said. lol!

  • drdirection

    Conehead circa 1977

  • tereliz

That top, those shoes, white tuxedo jacket, black leather pants (items she MUST have access to, right?)= WIN

  • guest2visits

Honestly, this dress appears so heavy it could come crashing to the floor any moment. (both pieces)
Why fashion such beautiful fabric to look like a giant elaborate beach towel?  And the up-do just adds to the impression of a recent
shower.  She’s so beautiful; wish the dress was designed better.  The shoes are gorgeous.
At least it’s slightly nicer than the model’s look.

    • MilaXX

I think they ruined it by turning the dress into a 2piece

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/X7R3OGRXQPBRJAO5SUE2YRBBLM Nadja

it looks like there’s a strip of skin above the skirt? or is it just me…

  • QuincyTKatz

Just hand it over to Charlize and be done!

  • Lilak

Laff (Gaffe?) of the Day.  What mad scientists styled this outing?

  • jmorino08

I cannot with the cone head hair. I can’t look at anything else! If I cover up her forehead and up, it actually works. Why on earth would someone think that hair works?!?

  • Jangle57

It’s Beldar’s and Prymaat’s long lost daughter!  Or maybe it’s their granddaughter – whatever.  This is so not her dress/hair/general overall look.  But the shoes are great, just get a pair that fits.

  • MilaXX

    GINYD!
Hair is wrong, skirt is too long, shoes too big and it was stooopid to cut that dress into a tube top and skirt.

  • allj

Waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much. And the conehead hair doesn’t help.

  • Lina_bee

Looks like a dress designed specifically for editorial use. I love good embroidery, but even in the runway shot it looks wasted on this particular dress.

  • MK03

That dress is all wrong for her. But HOLY SHIT YOU GUYS SHE CAN SMILE!!

  • http://twitter.com/katshimmers Kat Wright

I’m going to sound like and idiot, and I do know this, but I actually think this has some major potential! I like the length, but what makes it all wrong for me is the top half… I think something black (not sure what exactly) on top would make this work a lot better or as an actual full dress – on the model it looks like a full dress because of the belt, and I think that works really well… the mid-section bare skin makes it unworkable on KStew. Agree on the shoes – they gotta fit!

  • http://twitter.com/SparklyCasanova UglyCasanova

A little too long, the gold embroidered/belt middle NEEDS to be intact.  Not crazy about the hair either, could’ve been gorgeous.  I actually love this look, updated SE Asian housewife look.

  • Trisha26

This isn’t pretty on the model either. I would love to see her in this as one-piece mini. An what’s with the Jedward hair?

  • belfebe

On the runway, it looks like a Kirsten Steward dress par excellence.  On Kirsten, the styling was all wrong and doesn’t do anything for her.

  • Sara__B

Not her dress, unless she has one custom-made for her height. She needs to study red carpet pros like Keira Knightley and Zoe Saldana if she wants to wear stuff like this. It takes more than a slim body and a pair of heels to do make this outfit look good.

  • thecitysleeps

I actually love this in theory.  But the skirt is too long, I don’t like the shoes with it and her hair is horrendous.

  • Liverpoolgirl

    Irish dancing anyone?

  • unbornfawn

Accessories? Isn’t there a jeweler out there that wants to show off something? Getting over that this dress is SO not her dress, the proportion, how she’s wearing it, UG. She at least needed to make the attempt to finish the look with earrings and a bracelet maybe? The egghead hair style is doing her no favors either. This girl, just can’t get it right.

  • http://frankbettecenter.org/ sleah_in_norcal

adore the dress.  too bad about the conehead.

  • Natasha Haley

She looks like she’s rolled herself in a carpet.

  • hilbobaggins

Her hair actually made me laugh.  The dress could be lovely but needs a 6-footer to do it justice.  I do like her big-foot shoes.

  • sweetestsith

Pass this along to Charlize Theron dear! Or try again with the top paired with some sexy slacks or (maybe) skinny jeans. That might work for her.

  • marilyn

From the neck up, she is looking like the Bride of Frankenstein.  The hair and the smoke eyes do it.  She needs the belt with the dress  It is too long.

  • http://twitter.com/noshadejustT Tea

My first thought was to love it because she looks slightly happier than usual and her hair looks like a big “fuck off” to everyone taking her picture. Unfortunately the shoes don’t fit right and that skirt is too long for her. The bustier and her makeup are pretty slammin’ though. Even the strip of belly skin is cute.

  • http://profiles.google.com/gillianholroyd gillian holroyd

This look would have been completely redeemed with a different hairstyle and a better pose.

  • holdmewhileimnaked

if it wasnt too long this outfit would be pretty wonderful. the hair, otoh…..

  • kikisayshi

I loved this at first glance (all but the beehive hairdo – wtf?) but under closer scrutiny that beading is so heavy looking and the skirt is quite long. She looks good from forehead-to-hips though.

  • AlinaValero

it looks borrowed. i guess meaning it needs tailoring because it looks like it belongs to someone half a foot taller. also she must have taken the shoes from whoever she took the dress from too because they’re obviously too big.

  • http://twitter.com/jennsaysmeow Fifi LaRoux

Is she going for a Coneheads remake?

  • TieDye64

Conehead! WTH? This is just screaming for someone tall and willowy. Not her.

  • Aarjullor

Charlize would have killed that dress! Kstew looks terrible, that hair!

  • michelle shields

it’s nice if you want to look 20 pounds heavier. still can’t stand her though.

  • http://twitter.com/lenabena_ Elena

    Hate the hair.

  • Indovina

It’s the wrong length for her, and making it two pieces (and without the belt) was a huge mistake, but the dress itself is quite lovely. It doesn’t really suit her, though; she looks uncomfortable, but then she always does.

I actually almost like the hair just because it’s so ridiculous. It’s like a dressier version of a troll doll.

  • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

Someone’s getting the last laugh with that conehead hair.

  • AlexisPayne

Skirt is too long, don’t like the midriff showing, hair looks a little conehead.

  • BrightsideSusan

This is one of those “just because you can, doesn’t mean you should” dresses.  It is a beautiful dress but it does not suit her and should not have been used.  Order it in a shorter version better for her body type or leave it to a very tall girl.

  • Carlodog

That’s a very cool dress but she should not be wearing it.  And never style your hair that way again, Kristen.

  • http://twitter.com/tommarkiewicz88 tom markiewicz

sorry honey, this dress needs someone at LEAST 6 inches taller; love the shoes, that hair is a joke.

  • quiltrx

Like the dress (maybe a little long), LOVE the shoes, HATE the hair.

  • http://profiles.google.com/sauchih Sau-Chih Feng

    Kristen Stewart is a cone-head.

  • Amy Ellinger

no. no. no. She is not tall enough for this exquisite creation.

Put it on Nicole Kidman, add a belt to avoid the belly showing, and get some fierce gold towering sandals (with no platform) and it would be astoundingly WERQ-y.

  • RzYoung

I’ve just realised how much she looks like Sean Young in Blade Runner…therefore I think she would look awesome in 40s drag with roll fringe and everything, she should try it

  • http://twitter.com/MandySCG MandyJane

    Conehead hair.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1241487378 Lauren Lynch Fox

Is that a two piece thing? like it better with the belt. A little too long and she still has that  ”Oh God, just shoot me” look.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_ENBX3563Q4ZNCVRGSJVFIB7OAA Thom

Honey, just go home and start over.

  • formerlyAnon

Her head is the head of a person with insufficient gravitas or insufficient beauty to pull off that dress.

And the dang thing is too long. Also, these things do not go together: “visible midriff” and “pearl encrusted.”

  • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gabriella M

Needs some dangly earrings, and a shorter skirt somehow (maybe they could have turned the skirt into a dress).

  • AthenaJ

    Marge Simpson hair.

  • http://twitter.com/Fibercrazed Sara

Her stylist clearly forgot her shoe size and how tall she is. The dress is GORGEOUS and would have looked great on someone taller. The shoes are pretty but too large. Whoever did that to her hair should be shot.
