Well, she looks better than the runway model, which is something. I like this hem length on her better than longer, diva-er dresses.

That about sums up my feelings as well.  She could have gone with a different color in the clutch though..throw us a bone or something

The dress would be HOT if it didn’t have the lace around the shoulders. The leather and the cutouts is enough!

It’s cute, though, and I really like it. Though it’s definitely edgier than Eva normal attire.

  • Ana Jost

    I love her here !!!

  • donnaINseattle

I can’t get past the proportions. Feels off for some reason. My first thought (honestly) was twee, which I know is wrong, but I can’t look at this without thinking it.

    • DaringMiss

The dress is too long for her.  The dropped waist is hitting her too low because she is such a petite woman.  If the waist had hit an inch or so higher, it would be perfect.

Well, except for those silly lace patches on the shoulders.

    • http://twitter.com/Mylynka Mylynka

I felt the same way (about it being TAF (Twee as Fuck – as T+L say)).

She’s too … Avon Lady for dresses like this.  Not her dress though it fits her well.

‘Avon Lady’! Ha! I am so going to add this to my bitter-kitten vocabulary.

      • http://profile.yahoo.com/QCAQPLAUU3WHBJ5AT3BZTWDJJI THEAR

Thank you – I’m all giddy!  (really)

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/QCAQPLAUU3WHBJ5AT3BZTWDJJI THEAR

I take that fit opinion back … on second viewing it makes her stumpy and a titch round bellied.

Usually I’d say Marchesa would be a go-to designer for EL, but other than the floofy stuff on the shoulders this doesn’t look like Marchesa’s usual.

LOVE the sandals on the model though.

yes, those sandals are awesome. but on whom and with what?

  • PaulaBerman

Give this dress to AudreyBot please.

    • http://profiles.google.com/sara.e.munoz Sara Munoz

Good call! I think that would work much better. :)

I think this dress should belong to Kelly Rowland.  I don’t think that EL can pull it off.

  • janetjb

I have a great dislike of the shoulders, plus it’s May, not October.

  • schadenfreudelicious

no, just no, i don’t like the dress on the model either, but i think Eva needs to be about a foot taller to even consider this dress…

  • MilaXX

The dress is almost cute but 1) I think it’s too young for Eva and 2) the white lining is distracting.

  • PastryGoddess

It’s fussy, but I think she’s pulling it off.

  • holdmewhileimnaked

maybe the youngest she’s ever looked –& not a bad effort from marchesa, either. usually when they diverge even a quarter of a quarter of a quarter of an inch from their very narrow [if flouncy & fluffy] path, they create crazy monstrosities [ie: kristen stewart's dress o'moldering decay a week or two ago]. they did a way better job w/ this one. one of the very few, too, & even though it has that fashion dead-dont, the drop-waist.

    edited to add:
love the lacey weirdo boots on the model too. knew the actress would never go for them, however, even before i backed up my scrollwork.

  • S. B. Hadley Wilson

It looks so heavy for spring.

  • olsonam

People keep on wearing stuff from fall 2012 collections! The fashion industry needs to work that out. I can understand showing collections two seasons ahead because they might want time to make it ready to wear and give retailers time to order. But it leads to this!

  • http://twitter.com/lenabena_ Elena

    Predictable.

  • Scimommy

Hmm. Methinks it’s Emma Stone’s dress.

  • MzzPants

She’s on my list of inexplicably annoying people, but I have to admit:  she looks great here.  LUV that dress.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=4501978 Martha Jackson Deutsch

ugly hair, ugly shoes. interesting dress. missing lips.

  • ThaliaMenninger

The proportions on the dress look all wrong to me.

Eva can do no wrong lately!  Keep up the fierceness woman!

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/J2VE4NE2FY2BP4QD2XOYKJGLPI Laura

    yikes…

  • alyce1213

I like her, but this is bad.  Looks like a PR challenge where someone used plastics and custom decorative punches.

  • quiltrx

I actually like this dress…well, most of it, anyway.  All that foofaraw on the shoulders takes it into Twee as Fuck territory, which is amazing when it’s a leather dress.

Speaking of leather, that’s what her face kind of looks like here.  I’m ready for her to go away.

  • Lina_bee

Not Her Dress.  Or her makeup, apparently, as she doesn’t look anything like herself.

  • Vlasta Bubinka

    Ice Dance Barbie!

Cool dress! This dress shows off her fabulous legs and I think it was a fun choice for a movie premier. A little heavy for spring, yes, but she looks like she’s having fun swishing around in it and that’s a good bit of the battle.

  • http://profiles.google.com/sara.e.munoz Sara Munoz

Does Eva have a contract with Marchesa?

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/ZFKRECRF5BOBWB4RXAJGI4D6KA mmc

I think I’d like the dress on her if she played up the rock-n-roll in it, or the hardness.  It’s like she tried to soften it up with her hair, the clutch, the pumps, and maybe that was the wrong direction to take it.  But, I’m not sure.

  • TSkot

    Not her dress.

  • Anna Tree

Girl, that is not your dress.

  • UsedtobeEP

She has a lion face on her dress.

  • guest2visits

I love the concept of this dress; the lacey cut outs, the leather (or leather-like fabric), the inky black over white.
The proportions make it hard to wear. I don’t like the neck, or the placment of the rosettes.  And I don’t think it works well on Eva.

  • LinXGUA

    Heavy. Square shape.
    .
    Iron maiden.

  • TieDye64

This really isn’t her dress and would it have killed her to wear an actual lip color? Hate the hair. Very unflattering.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/XZTPYIF64TK3QDEMWUAS3KULFI Ted

i actually really like this Marchesa design. crazy, i know. still, something is quite off with the proportion (even on the models) and unfortunately, what really makes the look for me is those awesome fishing net sandals.

  • jw_ny

That dropped waist and longer skirt makes her legs look so short, and she’s short enough to begin with.  This is a dress for a much leggier woman.

  • Allison Woods

    So many problems here.

  • jmorino08

The dress is kind of funky and cool, but I’m totally distracted by the way her undo appears to have lifted the entire top Hal of her face up with it. Also, methinks someone needs an eyelash intervention…

  • http://twitter.com/nonchalantanna Anna

I don’t think I would pick this dress for her. She is short and petite, so the poportions of the skirt seem odd on her. Her hair also looks…. unfinished. I think we can do better Eva.

  • SpcilK

She is working very hard marketing herself and trying to stay relevant.

  • http://twitter.com/hurricaneemilyy Emily Shaver

Kind of fabulous. I would cut a bitch for this dress.
