Is it just me, but does it seem like she borrowed Elizabeth Banks’ prep team? The hair, makeup and dress all seem very Liz Banks.

    • Knightley

Nope, it’s not just you.  It’s Emma Stone pretending to be Elizabeth Banks.  Also, the eyeshadow needs to be returned to the 80′s where it belongs.

      • http://www.facebook.com/D.D.D.Dino Dino Bonačić

        i think it’s more 90′s & spicegirls.

but she does look fab. :D

    • PaulaBerman

I thought the same thing! Total EBanks clone in these pix.

    • Super_Red

      for serious! Exact same thought.

    • rumcg66

I thought it WAS Elizabeth Banks. I had to read the title of the post a few times before it sunk in that it was Emma.

      • sweetestsith

Me to, I am still a little boggled by the similarities.

  • Golfkat

I feel Emma Stone’d up now. It’s too much. She’s everywhere all the time.

    • moppet

I’m starting to hate this kid. Totally not her fault, I know, but my God she is everywhere. Please let this movie come out soon.

So glad you guys started the whiteboard. At least we have something to look at over the weekend!

    • http://www.tomandlorenzo.com/ Tom and Lorenzo

Thank you, Mandy, that was the idea. We take a break, but you still look at pretty (or not) things : ) XO

      • MilaXX

I love it. It’s like a bit of a surprise over the weekend.

      • EveEve

Add me to the happy kittens who are grateful that you’re putting in weekend time for us!  Thank you!  [and I'm probably the only one who thinks that dress is gorgeous, even if her makeup is hiddy]

    • TieDye64

Yep, I completely agree. Thanks T & Lo.

  • Lina_bee

I like the dress, but the styling is both distracting and somewhat off-putting. I’ve rarely seen her look so unrecognizable.

  • PaulaBerman

I could not be more sick of this girl, and I liked her quite a bit before this.

  • http://twitter.com/aidanboleyn Aidan B

She really is a lot happier without Garfield around, isn’t she?

  • nannypoo

Well, I liked the previous white dress, but this is just bad. There’s a Cruella DeVille aspect to this look that does not suit her at all. And WTF with the hair? I hope soon the movie will open (or has it already – I really don’t care) and she can dump what’shisname, go home, slip into something more comfortable, and wait for a project that needs less pimping.

    • Snailstsichr

Yes – Cruella de Ville – you nailed it!

  • guest2visits

This is the first hair style for Emma that I have truly disliked. But really; it’s because it’s in combination with a very heavy,
matronly gown that makes her look like she’s trying out for the part of aging Vegas hostess. If she used this hair-do with something
lighter and trendier – it would probably work fine.   Doesn’t look any nicer for the model either.

  • Vlasta Bubinka

Wow! This is so dragtastic, I feel like I’m watching Priscilla…

  • AmandaCathleen

She seems to be getting the detailing wrong lately. It’s a pretty cool dress (although I’m not sure I’m sold on the collar), but the hair is way off—it’s very aging.

If this were an In/Out post I’d be hard pressed to say “out,” but from the neck up I wish she’d make some changes.

    • GillianHolroyd

ITA. The dress needs an updo, just not this one. It makes her face look round.

  • quiltrx

I like this, but she looks uncomfortable…like she knows this is not *her* look.

My main quibble with the dress is the heavy-looking collar area.  I think a simple little Mandarin collar would have served the look much better.

I would not look out of place in this outfit.  And I’m 52, overweight, and have grey hair.
    ‘Nuf said.

  • MilaXX

It’s pretty but I think it ages her a tiny bit , make her look in her 30′s instead of 20′s. She looks like Elizabeth Banks. Also hate the hem.

  • http://twitter.com/SparklyCasanova UglyCasanova

    Too much dress.

  • marilyn

I like this look, but I am getting tired of seeing pictures of Emma every time she changes clothes.  She is overexposed.

  • TieDye64

    Rather Sharon Stone-ish isn’t it?

    • alyce1213

      It’s anybody-over-50-ish.

  • Super_Red

Oh look! It’s Emma Stone from 2062 picking up her lifetime achievement award! Plastic surgery has been kind to her, but the old gal’s still got it!

    • alyce1213

      Oh boy, you nailed it!

  • Sara__B

Villainess gown, hair, and makeup paired with Emma’s girl-next-door face and smile doesn’t quite work. It’s a very glamorous and sleek look, but it’s not very Emma.

  • Imasewsure

I kind of love this in her (and I am so thankful not to see that red lipstick again) but I can’t un-see the Spice Girls in this look!

  • TSkot

If ever a dress required black stockings, –  tights, boots, whatever – this would be it.

  • SophieCollier

The crossed-leg stance on the bottom pic makes it look like her feet are on backwards.  Very silly pose.  I really like this dress better on the runway with those boots.  Too hot for summer, but it’s visually more appealing.  I think Emma’s hair and makeup are excellent and she does wear this dress well.

Please, please help this lovely girl!

  • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

She looks a LOT like Elizabeth Banks in this picture, and I think it would have worked better on Lizzie. I like the dress, but it seems like too much for Em.

  • Cat_In_A_Hat

Girl needs to fire her stylists. Seriously.

  • formerlyAnon

She & the dress seem to be in a bit of a competition to see who’s wearing whom.  But I’d say she’s winning. Killer smile she’s got on her when it reaches her eyes.

  • filmcricket

My initial reaction was “ooh, pretty!” but the more I look at it the more it falls apart. Loathe the mullet hem, for starters. That collar swallows her neck. Once again, she appears to be wearing shoes that are too big for her. And yes, as others have pointed out, she looks like she stole Elizabeth Banks’s hair for the evening.

I love the fabric, and weirdly am not bothered by the peplum, considering I usually think of them as the devil’s work. I also think her make-up is pretty gorgeous – not right for the dress, maybe, but her features are all emphasized without needing 3 inches of pancake to do so, so that’s a plus.

Would also like to thank TLo for the Whiteboard. I always miss your commentary on these photos, but it’s fun to play on the weekends!

  • VicksieDo

    LOVE the hair

  • kikisayshi

Nice, but I feel like the hem is a little too short in front.

  • TheOriginalLulu

The dress and makeup are pretty awesome, but that hairstyle is kind of horrible.

  • http://twitter.com/delysia_lafosse Delysia LaFosse

This is a tricky dress to pull off, and I’m pleasantly surprised by how well Emma’s doing here. The hair and makeup do not suit her at all, and even though I borderline-like the dress on her, I think that something less edgy and better suited to her would have been a smarter choice for this premiere.

  • belfebe

She looks fabulous.  That’s all I have to say.

  • tereliz

Had to look twice to see that this wasn’t Elizabeth Banks. Glad I’m not alone…

  • http://twitter.com/kerrymccombs Kerry McCombs

Elizabeth Banks came to my mind immediately too! Before I had even scrolled down to the comments section! Hate that hair, but the dress is pretty fab.

  • granddelusion

    Why dont her shoes fit?

  • Bozhi

Why does she sress like she is in her 50′s?  I mean, fifty is not ugly, but she is not fifty.  I think she is in her 20′s.

  • jmorino08

She is channeling Elizabeth Banks in a few of those pics. Weird.

  • Aurumgirl

And yet another pair of shoes that are insanely high, and way too big.  You’re in Rome, honey, and Italy is famous for some good shoes.  Surely you could have sent out a handler to get you some in your size.

  • http://twitter.com/nonchalantanna Anna

This is just a bit mature for her. She looks pretty but very uncomfortable. Emma Stone is a girl that looks great in jeans or a sweeter, simpler look. I think this takes away from her natural assets and tries to make her something into something she’s not.
