Don’t like the hair but dress is gorgeous on her

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Lucía-Gavello/1253586868 Lucía Gavello

I wouldn’t say gorgeous but I could totally get behind that dress if it wasn’t for the Vanilla Ice hairdo.

      • TheOriginalLulu

Ha! I was thinking Brigitte Nielsen, but it’s kinda Vanilla Ice too.
Now that song is going to be stuck in my head all day. Ice, Ice baby.

        • Pennymac

Ah, crap, didja have to go there? Now its stuck in mine!

How odd–it seems like such a sexy dress, but Elizabeth is styled so plainly, and her hair is so matronly, that there is a wild disconnect. She’s so pretty. Let her hair down, get some color on her cheeks, give her a lovely necklace to offset all that skin, and put her in shoes that don’t scream “hooker,” and this might–maybe–work. But this just doesn’t come together in any sensible way.

  • MK03

Oof, that is not a good dress. By any stretch of the imagination.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2P2ANLRZ6YAVGONA36I2AQJYGI VicD

That dress is just stupid.  I could see it on Nicki Minaj maybe, but NOT Elizabeth Banks.  Smells of desperation ’round here.

  • BuffaloBarbara

If you have to start doing a backbend to keep your breasts on the inside of your dress, then the problem is the dress.  And it manages to be revealing without being even a little bit sexy, too.

    • charlotte

       I’d feel so uncomfortable!

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_LI35AZLWSZEYRDZ4PUCBHUCZUI Jonathan

I think it would be better without the underboob cutouts. The fact that fashion is in a place where I have an opportunity to write underboob cutouts is kind of sad. Also think the proportions of the skirt are off, too short and full. She has killer legs though

  • http://twitter.com/lenabena_ Elena

I always feel like she’s trying to hard to be a fashionista, but her Americana good looks just aren’t made for that.

  • Hetha Innis

I like it all from the waist down. What’s with her face? Looks like she’s about to cut a bitch.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_L6FKGKUXWF6QSWWYAHJZYKKI3E Adrian

Those cutouts on the midriff will never not look tacky to me. I like the bronzy metallic look, but the whole thing goes a bit flat for me because it’s in the dress, the jewelry, the shoes the clutch, etc. I’m thinking some pops of red to pick up the red in the dress would have been nice. Her hairdo is confusing me, because it’s all severe from the front and ladylike from the side, and is it just me or is she overdue to have her roots done? Maybe it’s the light or something and it looked better in person. Overall the look is a bit severe, but it seems to be what she was going for.

  • thecitysleeps

Love the shoes.  Hate everything else.

    • amf0001

      exactly!

  • http://profiles.google.com/sara.e.munoz Sara Munoz

    Ooh, no.

    P.S. Your petals are showing.

    • MilaXX

didn’t notice until you mentioned it. I suppose it’s better than a nip slip

  • VioletFem

I really like her hair. The dress is a bit much for my taste, but I can’t say she looks bad.

    • Monabel

Oh, yes you can, if you try…

      • VioletFem

LOL! Well I didn’t think she looked good!

  • kikisayshi

I’m not sure she can pull off the fierce-ness of this look.

  • LesYeuxHiboux

She’s workin’ the dress like it owes her money, though I wish it was better tailored/taped so that it didn’t gape at the front. My only real gripe is that her hair should have been taller, a little edgier for this edy dress. She should call Evan Rachel Wood and get her hairstylist’s number.

  • Spreecord

I like the hair, hate the dress, feel neutral towards the shoes.

Now let’s discuss the real issue – her face. I can’t tell if she looks more like she has a sinus infection, or if she’s just had dental work done.

    • Sara__B

Exactly! I was wondering if her feet hurt or something awful just happened to her.

  • holdmewhileimnaked

i really like the dress but i think it suffers from the same disconnect between it & its wearer as does nina garcia & her D & G in the previous [i think] post. & in both instances the respective dresses look thoroughly terrific on their respective models but their translation onto actress & editor get lost. not horrible in either case just, you know, kind of less than.

  • JasmineAM

I love the models styling much better.

  • formerlyAnon

With a different bodice I’d like the look. This looks like a really impractical cocktail waitress uniform in a lounge that’s trying for an edgy vibe.

  • In_Stitches

I love her, but she looks  like a drag queen that didn’t have time to put on her wig and face.  The dress is fine though.

  • http://profiles.google.com/thehilariest The Hilariest

Wow – Brigitte Nielsen is looking SO much better these days. She must have had some work done.

    • Jonathan Franklin

i was actually thinking Sharon Stone, but you’ve totally nailed it.

  • MilaXX

I had to look at this awhile. I like the dress on her, but I wasn’t sold on the hair until I saw the side view.  Good for her switching things up.

  • http://twitter.com/SparklyCasanova UglyCasanova

More pressing is, TLo whiteboarding during le weekend?  D:

Even more pressing are the minions!

  • guest2visits

This is just another peep show dress. Look at me….   In fact the first frame looks like she stepped out of the pool with her hair
slicked back; it looks more like she’s wearing a bathing suit than a dress. The material also seems stiff, or just not right for this
strappy design. Kind of Vegas cheerleader. The model is almost as awkward with the nearly naked midriff paired with heavy velvet
gloves and tights.  But Elizabeth herself is beautiful; and I like her accessories.  I LOVE the shoes.

  • Lina_bee

OMG STYLIST FAIL. This is a travesty.

  • nannypoo

    Eeeeew, skanky.

  • TieDye64

Wow,no. The hair isn’t helping. The shoes are kind of cool.

  • Aarjullor

That dress is awful, on both her and the model, yuck yuck yuck. I like the hair and the shoes, but overall this is a fail.

  • Indovina

The dress doesn’t work on her – she doesn’t have the requisite sort of attitude to carry it off, I don’t think. She appears to be trying, though I imagine that’s an accident of circumstance rather than a conscious effort, but it’s just not her. I’m not sure that it’s right for her colouring, either.

And, from the front, her hair is reminding us that anything less than the best is a felony.

  • Mary Haubenreich

Facial expression is easily explained by her discomfort with such a poorly-fitting dress. (Even looks poorly-fitting on the model.) Hair is OK from the side/back but needs more softness. Shoes and earrings were a good choice.

  • kerry dee

I think this would have earned pretty close to a WERK if it werent for the lack of makeup. driving me CRAZY, girl can’t you find some nice red lipstick?

  • belfebe

    Gah!  My eyes!

    That is all.

  • quiltrx

Wow, this dress hangs totally differently on the model.  I like it on the model, but Liz looks like a cheap cocktail waitress.

And we can see some body tape on her booby, but that wasn’t enough to keep it from gapping elsewhere.

  • alyce1213

Everything from the neck to the ankles is vulgar and awful. And she was doing so well . . .

  • allisankelly

That is too much dress for Ms. Banks. Matchy shoes, too.

  • TSkot

This cutout thing needs to stop.  It’s just plain ugly.

  • jmorino08

Is it me or does it looks like her head is on backward? That straight on angle looks like a very well defined back, not a beautiful woman’s chest. Same thing with the model. That’s some crazy fashion eye trickery right there…

  • Diane_G

I actually like this outfit on her (she’s serving up some Seven of Nine fierceness), but that makeup needs fixin’.

  • ThaliaMenninger

I like her hair from the side but not from the front, and I hate the dress. Too stiff, weirdly not-colored, cut-outs in the wrong places so she looks both cheap *and* chunky.

  • marilyn

    Is it a Rockette’s costume?

  • calimon

    Those shoes are FIERCE.

  • Samantha Irene

Totally like it. Could be better fitted under the bust – but it’s unique and striking!

  • Qitkat

Those shoes are really pretty, but wouldn’t they be just as nice in a 3-inch heel?
Prediction: podiatry will become a much more respected, and lucrative, profession 15 years from now.

  • http://twitter.com/Goldielox73 Goldie

Love the hair and shoes, HATE the dress.

  • SpcilK

    Sharon Stone!

  • http://twitter.com/kerrymccombs Kerry McCombs

I like the dress and shoes on her but that FACE! She’s trying to give supermodel fierce face but it just looks like she needs to poop.

  • MzzPants

    No.

  • AlexisPayne

Not my favorite hairstyle on her, but she looks good. Could of used a little more color in the face.

  • http://twitter.com/aidanboleyn Aidan B

She looks distressed. The dress in interesting but this looks needs stronger makeup.

  • mike__tv

Looks like Austin’s project runway allstar entry for that broadway play/musical(?).

  • Julaine Morley

The fabric is much too stiff for the pattern of the dress, and therefore cannot properly fit the “chestal” region. Any dress that allows a side view including the inner structure – or are those cutlets? – is problematic. And yes, awful hair and washed-out make-up. Too bad.

  • http://frankbettecenter.org/ sleah_in_norcal

strange… her hair looks butch from the front and fem from the side.  hmmmm…

  • http://blue-again.myopenid.com/ blue

That is not an easy dress to pull off, but she is WERQing it.
