this is a perfect dress for Jada. Her body looks amazing and i LOVE that she went all out with that color. Accessories are gorgeously fitting but am I the only person who just wishes her hair had a BIT more volume? it just serves as TOO literal an interpretation on the dress and an extra oomph wouldve made this perfect for me.

    • favorthebold

I think the sleekness of her hair is part of what makes this work look. And this dress is NOT one that everyone can make work, so I applaud her for making it sing.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Lucía-Gavello/1253586868 Lucía Gavello

It’s HER dress for sure. Love it, very sexy without being slutty. I don’t know how she can walk in those shoes though.

  • Anathema_Device

    Woman needs to unclench.

Great dress on her, though. The color is so fabulous with her coloring.

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Right?  I always think she’s about to betchslap someone.  And I agree about the dress. She looks wonderful in this. perfect color and it fits like a dream.

      • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

She’s probably starving – to look this good in this dress she definitely skipped breakfast.

        • BrooklynBomber

But, you know, don’t you think she’s always starving? Whenever I see her I think I’m looking at someone who’s ferociously committed to (and spends the majority of her time and energy on) staying thin.  I suppose I could wrong.

          • formerlyAnon

I’m down with the “ferociously committed to” extreme thin- & fit- ness – it’s part of the whole air of Trying Too Hard she usually wears, IMO. But I suspect that she’s wound really, really tightly and is just as driven in a number of other areas of her life.  I know a couple of people like that and just thinking their thoughts would exhaust me.

          • BrooklynBomber

Makes sense – she’s probably a very focused, driven person in general.

      • makeityourself

Is she baring her teeth or smiling? She’s not smiling with her eyes, that’s for sure.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/4KLZGI7NMQE2LQDYYSMPFXANW4 Uche

She always looks so forced and unhappy these days. I love the color but I dislike the fabric. It reminds me of those cheap pom poms you can buy at the Dollar Tree

      • http://twitter.com/jaythenerdkid Aaminah Khan

I kept reading this as “porn porns”.

        • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=610791985 Aniela Marie Perry

This made me spit on my monitor and that’s also exactly what I read.

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Ginny-Ellsworth/534496198 Ginny Ellsworth

You can buy porn porns at the Dollar Tree?

          • http://twitter.com/jaythenerdkid Aaminah Khan

We don’t have Dollar Tree in Australia, so how was I to know?

    • http://twitter.com/emilyf007 emily

YES! Must unclench should be her red carpet mantra.

  • Donna Lanclos

    She looks amazing, flat-out.

  • shanna bowie

She looks amazing and I have no idea how that dress is holding itself up.

  • http://heartprintandstyle.blogspot.com Vivi N

She’s doing a whole lotta ‘breathing-in’ in that 1st photo. I almost feel like exhaling for her.

  • http://www.facebook.com/ali.sharpe.6 Ali Sharpe

    I think she looks great!
Not a huge fan of the shoes, and the hair/makeup could’ve been a little better(before I even saw the model’s styling, I thought, “Dramatic eye! Slicked-back ponytail!”). But it’s an amazing freaking dress in a great color, and it fits her to a T.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_PQUIUGKP7ZBLZJ6WAGEKXBA4TE Naddy08

    LOVE IT.

  • http://twitter.com/LoveTeachPray Jennifer Swegler

Almost too severe on the hair?  But man… werq it out now Jada.  Fabulous dress on her for her coloring.  Though that being said… I just did not really dig this seasons Altelier Versace very much.  This is far better than Ms. Mila’s green dress though.

  • crash1212

Yikes. Does this woman ever exhale? SO very intense. Love this look though. One would need ram-rod non-exhaling posture to pull it off. Girl, this IS your dress!

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/GVWKCMDPWOOLT2R4KT7AAIW6XY Jimmy

Stunning as hell. I think it just need some showier earring.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/OZYGIJWQ3GLHGY5LJH7M5ES7XY soozinator

I think we’ve seen this dress before right? It’s not a crime or anything of course. My spidey sense says it was during the Hunger Games  pole dancing…

    • MilaXX

IIRC the yellow dress Elizabeth Banks wore was from the same collection.

  • http://twitter.com/Lola99959 Veronika Kaufmann

The Hunger Games: 20 years later.

    • http://twitter.com/SparklyCasanova UglyCasanova

      Haha, my thoughts as well.

  • wisenhar

She looks gorgeous, and I’d even give her a WERQ, but doesn’t it seem a bit much for the Madigascar 3 premier? (even if it is at Cannes?)

    • http://twitter.com/noshadejustT Teri

Thats what I was thinking- its SEVERE up in here! You’re promoting a children’s film, so… act like it?

  • Melissa Brogan

Don’t like the platform heels, but I guess that’s the only way she could be tall enough for this dress. Color is fantastic, and I love the collar detail, but I’m not sure about the fabric. It’s weirdly shiny.

Feels like she needs a more dramatic eye color.

  • minnye

Perfect dress for her, but that super straight hair and those talons are too much. She ought to play around with a more natural tough-girl look, like 70′s era Pam Grier. That styling would be more fun. If she wants to look like she’s having fun, that is… ?

  • Pants_are_a_must

If you need to wear 6-7 inches of heel just to not trip over your dress, THAT IS NOT YOUR DRESS LENGTH.

    • Zeeshan Ali

      Funny how you call her out on those heels…now scroll back up and see the model in the same dress and notice…the 6+ inches heels {gasp!}

      • Pants_are_a_must

Yes, it’s incredible when you compare what happens when a model wears a runway look, and then an actress who could surely have something hemmed correctly doesn’t bother. Repeatedly.

        • sweetestsith

This dress would be difficult to hem nicely due to the scolloped hem, which look like the actual fabric hem and not just a perfectly matched trim. As she is likely borrowing the dress, I’d give it a pass. Also, I kind of dig her shoes. :P

  • mjude

she always looks like she is holding her breathe.  i am no liking the look

  • sherrietee

FLASH!  A-ah!   Savior of the universe!  FLASH!  A-ah!  He’ll save everyone of us!

    • bluefish

You read my mind — Flash Gordon — Go Flash go … I hate the look and the dress and that gold chestplate is unflattering as hell.

  • MilaXX

I’m not loving the super straight, pulled back hair.  Then again, I loved it when she wore her hair super short. Overall I think this fits well and is a good color on her. I just wish she would relax a bit on the RC. She looks clenched.

  • http://twitter.com/stellaphone Stella Zawistowski

This may be the one and only time I will sign off on a sheer skirt. She looks amazing.

  • In_Stitches

That slits a little much, no?

  • TAGinMO

    WERQ, full stop.

Also, the sheer skirt works much better with Jada’s skin tone than on the white model.

  • clairellis

Breathe Jada! Your hot and you own this dress so take a breath, your brain will thank you.

  • carpediva

    Fuh-EERCE!

  • JenXer

    Fierce

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Bethany-Roullett/100000413803142 Bethany Roullett

I think that dress is fabulous on her.  The color is amazing.  I just wish she didn’t look like she was about to shatter into a million pieces, she always looks so severe.

  • Jess5628

I want this to be awesome, but it’s a little too futuristic-space-cocktail-waitress. The see-through orange lace, super high slit, and the fact that she appears to be holding her breath — it’s all bringing this look down.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_VA5XLSF3QRELSC3MUFSXLP4EIE rebecca

Damn that thing fits her like nothing else. The orange feels a bit much for her skin tone. I feel it clashes a tad too much. But she’s workin’ that thing. Helluva dress.

  • Beth G

I like the color.  I don’t like the face that her hairline seems to be the same as her neckline.

  • GorgeousThings

Gosh, even when she’s smiling she looks like she’s getting ready to bite the head off of a kitten. Get her into anger management therapy, stat!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1401197785 Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

    That is Jada’s dress.

  • http://twitter.com/AmberAndronicus Fucking A.

I like the dress on her but I don’t like the shoe. I feel like it’s a bit too heavy on her and it makes her look a little stumpy. The dress is a gorgeous color and it looks great against her skin. I almost wonder what it would have been like to put her hair in a ponytail instead and show off that back.

  • Terrie_S

The gold along the top makes me think “superheroine does the red carpet.” There’s something very Wonder Woman about it.

  • Judy_S

Don’t love the dress (sparkly orange lace?) but it is her dress–looks beautiful on her.

  • http://twitter.com/SparklyCasanova UglyCasanova

    Three deep fried hamburgers, STAT!

  • http://www.thatwasdramatic.tumblr.com/ Anya

I love this colour on her, and I think from a distance she looks beautiful – but in the close ups she just looks like she’s in pain.

  • SpcilK

Va, va,va, Vegas! I am probably the only person that does not like this dress on her, she has done much better in the past. I hold her to a higher expectation than this exotic film awards look. Her hair is too severe, lack of make -up and accessories, and the nails… Oy Vey.

  • PeggyOC

Holy crap.  She’s not usually a favorite of mine, but she looks hella-fabulous here.  Simpler is better with her, and she rocks this look.

  • http://twitter.com/Kathy_Marlow Kathy Marlow

    Fierce walking….She looks amazing.

  • http://www.MintaHall.com/ Minta Hall

She does look fierce and amazing, but far from happy. Or maybe Anya is right and she’s in pain. Something’s wrong.

  • http://twitter.com/parrishdav Corey Davis

Great color! Sitting a little too high which makes her look even more like she’s holding a grape between her cheeks and platform heels paired with a sheer skirt teeter on pole dance dancer territory.

  • Dhammadina

    Beautiful.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/K3O2QNXDJIU3AJINAGNJRYWDZ4 mrspotts66

love the color & the metal around the bodice edge.
not digging the shoes.  they’re just meh.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_ENBX3563Q4ZNCVRGSJVFIB7OAA Thom

I don’t like the skirt ending sheer at the hem, and would’ve maybe have liked to have seen a ring. Plus, I think the shoes are too close in color to the gold trim: greater contrast might’ve been required.

  • GTrain

    Looks great on her

  • nannypoo

Looks uncomfortable. No wonder she seems so unhappy.

  • Ceur

    She scares me.

  • http://roughmenstandready.wordpress.com/ Dejah Thoris

23rd century Frederick’s of Hollywood Fembot

  • http://twitter.com/Kerry_McC Kerry McCombs

    She scares me.

  • Jellybish

Fabulous, but I would like the dress better if it were lined all the way.

  • bogill

was she in a car accident? did she need a neck brace?

  • Zippypie

Color is fabulous, dress is hiddy.  I just realized that that gold strip is a decorative covering for the tape that holding up that bodice.  A new use for metal molding courtesy of the Home Depot.  In fact, that dress is kind of the color of Home Depot’s logo.  Maybe Jada is their new femmebot  mascot.  All she needs is a power drill -in Black & Decker orange – as an accessory.

    • Carlodog

I was just going to post that the gold strip is taped to her chest holding up the bodice.  See, we figured out how it stays up!
And now I’m running away because she scares me.

  • Zippypie

Oops!  Can’t edit so beware of typos!

  • guest2visits

Still another see through dress that I’m not crazy about. But… she actually looks better than the model in hers.
It’s a nice color on her and even though she looks pretty good here;  after the past several posts of her, – I’m becoming
convinced her jaws are wired firmly closed.

  • Lina_bee

Wish she’d gone with different jewelry but she’s ROCKING this dress…which I’d initially gazed at with horror. So, go her!  I do wish she looked happier this junket, though, because she is awesome.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=594645271 Ivan Barnes

    1)WHITEBOARD IS AWESOME
    2) If she would knock it off with the growl/scowl and smile for a change you would be able to notice how freaking awesome she looks

  • CarolinLA

Being African American actually helps this dress a lot.  The deep color of her skin negates the sheerness in a really good way.  LOVE the color.

  • Caaro3

ALWAYS looks like a sent-home-early queen on RuPaul’s Drag Race.

  • enchanted216

Let me accentuate, with both my hands, the orange arrow pointing to my vagina!  LOL!

  • snarkmeister

I just can’t with her.  The soft floaty turquoise dress is the best I’ve ever seen her look.  Everything else screams Skeletor to me.

  • jjfg

Wow, I can’t think of too many other people who could pull off that dress so well.  I think she looks better than the model!

  • SorayaS

She is killing it at Cannes! She must have a new stylist and they are earning their keep for sure!

  • NurseEllen

The engineering of this dress is escaping me.  I bet it’s mighty uncomfortable.  Good color for her but I don’t care for the chevron pattern in the fabric.

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/toodleskitty79?feature=guide AWS

Don’t love her but I love that dress.

  • Susan Crawford

    Great dress! Great color!

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/J2VE4NE2FY2BP4QD2XOYKJGLPI Laura

Not so sure about the skirt but I dig the rest of it. Fierce.

  • Miss_Magpie

    It’s a compact, no, it’s a dress! It’s a compact, it’s a dress! IT”S BOTH!!

  • lifetime_student

Fierce! But those facial expressions are just scary.

  • plinkiedoodle

    Just no.

  • beebee10

    insufferable

  • TieDye64

Ya know, I don’t love it, but dammit if this girl isn’t making it look fierce. Love the color.

  • FlamingJune1967

Jada and Kristen need to go to counseling together.  Apparently, they were smile-traumatized as youngsters.

  • RzYoung

    Wow! This is stunning!

  • http://twitter.com/Putting_On_Airs Kathleen

Love the color on her and I think the warrior bodice suits her but I’m not loving the shoes with this particular ensemble, wish the skirt wasn’t sheer and if it were me, I would have done a slick ponytail and more impactful earrings.

  • ballerinawithagun

Perfect fit! Side sexy without side boob! Amazing!

  • Anna Knight

Suits her perfectly and great color for her – but it’s just a smidge small in the hip, throwing the pattern off and looking a bit strained, rather than soft.  Agree with others that the hair is great with the look, but the jewelry’s pretty blah.  She also seems to have the same makeup, regardless of what she wears.  Something a bit stronger would have seemed perfect with such a bold dress.

  • SusiePamudji

She looks so amazing in this dress.

  • formerlyAnon

This is a great dress on her. BUT.

God In Heaven, if I were a celeb with a Grade A++ body I’d decree that I would wear no designer garment that had not been tailored to fit – this dress is a triumph – and then we get four inches of pointless hem dragging the ground behind her!! How do you even walk in that without catching your heels in it with every step?  (How do you even get that much discrepancy between front and back when it’s an even hem on the model?)

She had to have devoted one hand to hiking up the hem anytime she wanted to walk. Madness.

  • Jessica O’Connell

Kind of love it. Not crazy about the hair, but she still looks fantastic.

  • Elias Pineda

    tooo longgggg

  • kikisayshi

    DO IT Jada!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=22917995 Nicole Renee

This is like Disco Fab Grace Jones. It’s fun and fierce! I approve. And apparently Jimmy Choos are taking over the RC monopoly style.

  • understateddiva

I am so ready to burn this entire Atelier Versace collection.  There’s about 2 people in the world that could pull any of them off, and EVERYONE is wearing them.  Over. It.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1253053236 Belle Burnett

    WOW, that is her color!
    Love the shoes.
However, and I do get that it’s Cannes and all, it’s just a little too…forced?

  • newleaf1

Please, no more Jada.  She’s scary.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=517890557 Willis Cramer Kliefoth

This is perfect for her, but I wouldn’t want to be her friend. UPTIGHT.

  • Daenyx

Fierce as hell.  I actually really like that neckline on her, too, and I don’t think it would work on many people.

  • CQAussie

    Stunning.  Ruined by the shoes.

  • daliah lugo

Girl does *not* look happy.  Great dress, though.

  • unbornfawn

Fierce dress, perfectly suited to her. Her attempts at smiling are more scary than her normal “I’m going to cut you” looks.

    NO

  • http://twitter.com/nonchalantanna Anna

    FIERCE.
