All fierce except for the hair which is just a little… ugly. And she needs to sort that man out, I’ve never seen anyone in tux look so homeless before.

  • mozzer0906

Hate the dress.  Hate the belt.  Hate the weird penis embellishment between her rosy boobs.  The weird hump in her hair is odd.  The top looks cheap and the bottom looks DIY.  The shoes and clutch are killer though.

    • http://profiles.google.com/sara.e.munoz Sara Munoz

OMG OMG mental image that won’t go away.

      • Pennymac

That cannot be unseen now that it’s been stated! I can’t even comment on the dress now, thanks! Covet those shoes, tho.

        • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1401197785 Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

          Oh dear lord. Yes.

  • Super_Red

Wow. that’s a lot of dress.

  • http://smalltownbigwardrobe.wordpress.com Catherine

God bless her for being so ballsy on the RC. And that clutch is freaking awesome.

That said, I really don’t like the top half and bottom half together. On their own with something different, they’d be great. But they’re both just too complicated, and the colors are not pretty paired together. The belt is pretty perfect though.

  • http://twitter.com/sebwfu Shannon Beamer

Muppet skirt ahoy!  Yuck.  Don’t love the rest of the dress, either.  Or her hair.  But good god I covet those beautiful, shiny gold shoes.

  • http://www.facebook.com/janet.selman Janet Selman

Good choice to go with the original shoes but that skirt looks like her private car hit a flock of geese and she didn’t close the window in time.  Or like she’s standing in a toilet-paper roll cover crocheted from fun-fur.

    • Qitkat

Even though I love the dress, this is too funny.

  • SusiePamudji

I like the shoes. That’s it.

  • HomeOfficeGirl

It’s odd.  But I kind of love it.  The shoes are amazing!!

  • belfebe

    Beautiful and fierce. Me like.

  • http://journostyle.blogspot.com Alana

This dress really takes my breath away. I think it’s fantastic.

    • ampg

Me too.  I’m sort of surprised by the lack of love here – I think she’s really pulling it off.

    • http://twitter.com/noshadejustT Teri

      Me three! Love it!

  • MilaXX

I don’t like that she copied the runway version exact and while it works on the model on Diane that top/skirt combo just feels like too many elements. It feels like she needs either a simple top with the big bird skirt, or a simple skirt with the heavily embellished top. Shoes are fierce and can work either way.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

Um, her make up looks really good.  Other than that, there is way too much going on from the neck down, and the hair doesn’t seem to really go with the look.  Pass.

    • minnye

Is it my monitor, or does she have a racing stripe on her nose?

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

That, is hysterical!  Good eye!  I didn’t notice it at first.  I should rephrase and say “Make up looks great, with the exception of the unfortunate racing stripe on her nose”.

      • http://www.GiftedCollector.com Nancy Abrams

That’s a make-up artist trick to make a nose appear more narrow. I learned that from Oprah’s make-up man. Since Diane has a narrow nose, it”s kind of odd that her person did that to her. Now I have to go back to other pictures of her to see if her nose is always done that way.

  • Spreecord

I honestly don’t know what possess someone to design a dress with elements from an old wedding centrepiece and yak’s hair.

I’ll take the shoes and the clutch, though. Like, right now.

  • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

My problems here are twofold.  First that dress, which is quite lovely, hits her in the wrong place in the middle, and skews her proportions, making her look oddly short-waisted. Second, will some kindly disposed hairdresser PLEASE grab that man of her’s, and give him a decent haircut? And some good product?

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

And a freaking shave.  This annoys me….its so short its not really stubble, but not really shaved.  I wished this trend would excuse itself immediately.  It makes men look sloppy and lazy.  Either you want facial hair or you don’t. Ok, I feel better now.

      • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Only about one in 10,000 men can work the stubble thing and look HOT.  What most guys who try it forget is that, like any other look, it has to be groomed and maintained.

        • littlemac8

I was a big fan of Lost.  At some point along the way I learned that hair and makeup blew on the stubble. Hysterical.

  • newleaf1

No, no, no.  Just so fussy.  Looks like someone dumped the Michaels notions department on her dress.

  • PastryGoddess

    From the ankles down: FAB-U-LOUS

    From the ankles up: WTF

  • http://twitter.com/LianaBrooks Liana Brooks

I don’t love the beige on pale people. Hate it.

  • CassieLee22

LOVE THE SHOES also the top is pretty cute, but not with that skirt

  • J MN

I like it.  The dress is interesting and has a lot going on but I love the look.  The shoes and clutch are killer, as has been said.  As for her hair – why wasn’t it washed and restyled?  The last look looked like it was loaded with product but had enough hold to wave and still wear down.  Now, a day later, it looks like they tried to get it back and gave up and put it in a granny knot.  Is the water pressure that low with all the celebs showering at the same time for the same events?

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/K3O2QNXDJIU3AJINAGNJRYWDZ4 mrspotts66

no.  no no no no no.
    i like the clutch.

  • SapphoPoet

I don’t like any of this. It’s just too much of everything.

  • Hermione_Granger

Those shoes are amazing. They should have been paired with a simple and sexy black dress.

  • judith traherne

The placement of the belt makes her look short-waisted especially coming so close to the boob embellishment. Same as on the model. In the bottom photo, I wish she’d stand straighter and really sell this dress because it is pretty spectacular.

The guy, no presence whatsoever, a decent but dull shlub.

  • http://profiles.google.com/alison.sigman Alison Sigman

It took me three times looking at these pictures to remember I’m supposed to comment about her & not him. Sorry boys but the Creek is on Netflix & I’m reliving all my old Pacey fantasies.
Regardless, I love the shoes, the matchy clutch is almost too much but props for the unique design. Everything else (including JJ) needs to go back into the limo.

  • Onika K Morris-Alleyne

I’m just here for Pacey in a tux

  • http://teabagsinfusion.blogspot.com/ Laura Toepfer

Mostly I’m thinking, is she subliminally trying to get her fella to marry her? Between this one and the ultra-bridal the other day, is she planting pictures in his head? And will it work?

    • BrooklynBomber

I also thought this looked kinda bridal.

  • Lisa Dugan

The top of the dress and the shoes are both fabulous but the bottom of that dress does not work for me.  I’d like it with something else.  The contrast of gold and white is just too stark with the different materials fighting for attention.  She looks lovely though.

  • Judy_S

He looks nice. I like the purse.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/J2VE4NE2FY2BP4QD2XOYKJGLPI Laura

Except for the hair, I kind of like it. What is it with this one and the hair?

  • quiltrx

Yurgh, back to the Heidi-hair.  I don’t care for the cream top/white bottom look…wish it were more cohesive, because I like the idea of the dress.  Killer clutch.

  • janetjb

Please get yourselves a new hairdresser.

Not every one wants to wear extensions, etc., but she needs help styling what she has.  Plus, he really needs a hair style and a shave.

  • Scarlet39

Neither she nor the model have any waist in this thing.

But I do love the shoes!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1314255041 Irina Ryabchuk

    OMG those shoes and clutch…
    belong to Zoe Saldana.

  • crash1212

Can’t think of many others who could pull this look off, but she does. I love it on her – LOVE. It’s a very complicated, busy dress, but she makes it look easy. Also, those shoes? LOVE. They are perfection. Tell Paul Simon that Diane really does have diamonds on the soles of her shoes.

  • http://twitter.com/Goldielox73 Goldie

I believe this is the event I was reading about that Joshua Jackson won a diamond necklace for her with a $45,000 bid.

  • Jennifer Hofstetter

Hate the proportions, hate the feathers, hate the hair. Love the arm candy, but even he looks disheveled. Go home. Try again.

  • marilyn

Beautiful girl, ugly dress.  How did they find matchy-matchy shoes for that trainwreck of a dress?

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=790818401 Laurie Landry

    the shoes…drool!

  • 3boysful

It does rather look like they  took the head off a sports bar patron and plopped it on a tux, doesn’t it?

What so many of these guys don’t realize is that we might like the scruffy look with appropriately casual clothes, but when you’re in a tux, clean up, dammit.

This was supposed to be a reply to Sarah Elizabeth Lewis, below.

  • IAmJ

I shouldn’t love it but I do. And the shoes are HOTTT.

  • TheOriginalLulu

It’s a LOTTA LOOK, but it’s doing nothing for her. Sorry, thumbs down.

  • holdmewhileimnaked

i love everything about the dress other than the fertility goddess/virgin/vagina in the middle of the pattern. true.
the only other thing is [although in this i may be quite alone]:
if theres a guy standing next to her? i didnt even see him.
this dress works like an elsewise eraser, if i make sense.

    edited to add:
except for the shoes, it doesnt erase them. so i suppose it’s an entire outfit elsewise eraser. cos i love the shoes more. which makes sense, i guess.

  • guest2visits

Diane’s look is a whole lot of fun, from head to toe. I might imagine a different belt, but it’s not terrible.
Like everyone else; I m begining to think he needs a shave.

  • Sara__B

SHE: Even fabulous fierce models/turned/actresses can’t wear everything. The proportions on this dress couldn’t be more unflattering, and then there’s the overload of embellishments. Major fail on this one.

HE: It was so sweet of her to pose for a photo with one of the catering staff. Too bad they won’t be hiring him again — he was running late and forgot the rule about being clean-shaven and well-pressed.

  • bluefish

Less is more.   Hate the shoes. She looks exhausted and ready to go home and I don’t blame her.

  • Lina_bee

Diane, you are adorable. But if any designer ever again lends you something with a giant gold phallus laying smack between your breasts, SEND IT BACK!!

  • Qitkat

While it may be a hairy vaginacobra (thanks @holdmewhileimnaked:disqus ) dress, I really like it for no reason that I can fathom at all. And the shoes are beyond awesome, as is the clutch.

Some gals just have the ability to pull off these unusual dresses, and while she is not a Tilda, or a Cate, or a Helena, she doesn’t strike me as twee either, just quirky enough. But honey, that hair! go back in the restroom and have someone help you fix it.

  • Macy Augustus

I feel like I shouldn’t like this dress, but I do.  I’m not a huge fan of the “Kruger”, but she’s been firing on all engines this week at Cannes.  The proportions on this dress are very difficult, but it still works . . .maybe even WERQs?

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/JO2ZPMWZR7BENRHIQ7DYGJP2HQ Melanie

    hate.

  • http://twitter.com/Putting_On_Airs Kathleen

Love the clutch. Shoes are fabulous. The rest – ick.

  • DCSheehan

It looks to be one of those dresses that is better in motion than just limply hanging. But the clutch and shoes are killing me they’re so damn neat.

No, his name ain’t baby, it’s Joshua, Mr Jackson if you’re nasty! For me he’s one of those guys who makes rumpled work.

  • wordphreak

    From gorgeous to grotesque….

  • Cecilia Evans

    Preschool art project gone awry.

  • formerlyAnon

Love clutch. The rest of what she’s wearing is too much for me, crosses over from fierce into gimmicky. The shoes were awesome, in an “I can’t believe I like those” way, till I saw the white fuzzy back. Looks too much like beloved pet fur. Sorry, it’s just me.

He would be as close as “just a regular joe” gets to perfect if he’d shave.

    • kimmeister

Exactly agree with your sentiments about the furry white heels – looks like horse hide or something.  Ick.

  • http://twitter.com/TigerLaverada TigerLaverada

Not a fan of these dresses that look like the designer got trapped in a notions factory. Too much going on, plus an unflattering shape. Nope. The shoes are hideous.

  • petalfrog

Those shoes are insanely amzing. Her hair makes her hairline look receding. I love Pacey, but he needs a good barber treatment and some cucumbers for those bags.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_ENBX3563Q4ZNCVRGSJVFIB7OAA Thom

It’s a little too saccharine, but the textures keep it much more interesting than other pale dresses on fair-skinned blondes. The volume of the high-waisted feathered skirt throws off the body shape, making her seem much shorter-waisted than I’d believe. It’s still very twee, plus the metallics of the shoes and clutch don’t match, which makes my eye twinge.

  • PaulaBerman

Too matchy. I dislike the shoes, and her hair. Disappointed!

  • LinXGUA

Josh finally finds his niche: No shave and Bowtie.
Her: futuristic swan. I like it: combines the harsh and the soft. And what a cutie little purse! But! She missed the opportunity to get some liberties away from the model, tho.

  • http://twitter.com/jennsaysmeow Fifi LaRoux

I’m not sure the geriatric Big Bird skirt goes with the top. I love the shoes, hair and clutch though. Also really glad she didn’t recreate the runway make up.

  • http://twitter.com/nonchalantanna Anna

On Diane, this dress is lovely and interesting. I don’t love the shoes with it, I think they could be toned down a bit even if they were shown with the model. The clutch is fabulous, though there may have been a better match for this outfit, there certainly could have been a worse one. He still needs to shave and a comb.

  • http://twitter.com/hurricaneemilyy Emily Shaver

Gurl your man looks fineeeee, but that is way too much dress for you, or at least your hair. Please fix your hair, and get that dead thing off your ass.

  • Calinda_L

Gah. I soooo wish she hadn’t worn the dress and shoes straight off the runway. It’s a good combo, don’t get me wrong, but she is so much better than that! Leave the insta-matching to the lesser dressers.
