A little wierd as usual but the top works for me. The bottom (not Bjork’s fault) is a little to puffy but overall I think it works on her. Not many girls could wear this and make it look decent. She is one of them. Hate the shoes with it though.

  • Chickadeep

Y’know, if she hadn’t been wearing it, and I just saw that dress, the first thing that would pop into my head would be “…that looks like something Bjork would wear.”

    • Vickiefantastico

      Exactly.

  • schadenfreudelicious

she should finish off the look by wearing the award as a crown!

    • lamamu

…As a transmitter for the home planet. She’s got to be bored by planet Earth by now. Love her.

  • http://twitter.com/hmbscully WendyD

If she had two of the awards and wore them as shoes, the look would work more for me.

    • HomeOfficeGirl

      Totally!

  • http://twitter.com/Kerry_McC Kerry McCombs

I love her all the way down to her clunky boots.

  • Donna Lanclos

The dress is Bjork-some and awesome on her.  I hate her hair.  And hate how it matches her eyeliner.

    • LuisaNL

Agreed! I love the dress but hate hate that hair, the makeup and the orthopedic boots.

  • HomeOfficeGirl

What?  You guys didn’t want to review this!?  Haha!  Thanks for leaving it to us.. how fun!!

    • http://www.tomandlorenzo.com/ Tom and Lorenzo

      You’re welcome : )
Just FYI, looks for the Whiteboard are picked randomly, not based on whether we want to review something or not.

      • UsedtobeEP

Really? That’s a surprise. I don’t know how you could resist this one!

  • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Standard issue Bjork cray cray.  But it works for her.

  • http://profiles.google.com/anplica Anplica Fiore

Wow – it looks like her dress was the result of a taffy-pull gone ALL WRONG.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1775610958 Debby Lovinger Teicher

I am shocked that this is Whiteboard. How did you hold yourselves back?

  • Cecilia Evans

Is that the award, or just her purse?  You can never tell with Bjork…

  • EveEve

No pale pink diaphanous skirt or illusion netting = IN

  • HomeOfficeGirl

She’s like a big hippie candle.

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

oh GAWD!!  Perfect!!!!  It really does look like one of those insane, loopy, multicolored candles, with the big ribbons of wax sticking out all over.  Wonder where the wick is?

      • TheOriginalLulu

We’re probably better off not knowing…

        • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

          Word!

  • SewingSiren

Love every thing about this. Even the ball of wool hair.

    • marjzilla

like o’brien in downton abbey :)

    • TheOriginalLulu

My aunt could grab the end of that and knit me a sweater.

  • Anathema_Device

I can’t criticize this woman. She’s the Icelandic, pixie HBC.

    Those shoes are djorky, though.

  • Richard Harper

    It completely works for her.

  • Laurie Bergman

    This is 100 percent her.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=706642986 Suzan Ayda

wow, i dig the dress. she continues to be avantgarde.

  • Anna Tree

That is everything that is wrong with the world.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1069083922 Brady Galan

I freakin love her no matter how cracktastically she’s dressed!

  • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

I like the dress — it’s quirky enough and has enough visual interest to suit Bjork — but the hair and the shoes (with the black tights) are just too much.

  • nannypoo

What the hell is wrong with this woman?

  • rkdgal

And this is why she has her own bracket in Fug Madness, folks.  Keep it up, crazy Icelandic pixie lady!

  • quiltrx

The dress is kind of fabulous, and very Bjork.  Don’t care for the hair colors, especially with the dress.  And those shoes are just ruining the whole look.

    • In_Stitches

My thoughts exactly!  The damned shoes…

      • Andrea Rossillon

I agree–the hair and the dress don’t go together in any way at all. You can’t even say they clash. They’re just entirely different aesthetic ideas.

  • siriuslover

    Oh Bjork, don’t ever change.

  • TAGinMO

I don’t care how quirky and avant garde one wants to be, one should never wear any article of clothing that looks like tree fungus. Blech.

  • Matthew Bond

Why did this not merit your attention for a full post???

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=506473106 Mori Clark

It’s Bjork, she’s completely untouchable. Everything she does is to please some Icelandic elves or spirits, I imagine.

  • MsKitty

I wondered what had happened to the Creature from the Black Lagoon after all these years. Apparently he was skinned and the remains ended up in Bjork’s closet.  Good times.

  • PeggyOC

Bjork visits us from planet BEEEEP to show us her new brain storage case.  Thank you, Bjork.

  • Lina_bee

Oh, dear. I love her, but I want to wash off that eyeliner.

  • http://twitter.com/luqluqe LuqeMann

I don’t know about this one. The dress kinda remind me of alien’s internal organ. And why should we be discussing Bjork? Girl is going to dress the crazy way she likes it anyway.

    • kimmeister

“Alien’s internal organ” is the PERFECT descriptor.

  • Jennifer Hofstetter

The dress is weirdly flattering on her.

  • Sara__B

There’s nothing like a little Bjork with my morning coffee to get me awake and alert.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=678337501 Carla Axtman

If only…IF ONLY…I could get away with wearing artfully draped pulled taffy dresses, all would be right with world.  I’m guessing this would turn a few heads in the checkout line at Safeway.

  • guest2visits

Crazy good on the model.  On Bjork; awful crazy.  A nightmare, really.

  • VioletFem

Even the award looks weird. As far as the outfit, on anyone else it would look crazy. On her….it looks crazy, but I love her for it.

  • Melissa Brogan

It’s… very Bjork-like, to be sure.

    I hate the hair.

  • http://www.MintaHall.com/ Minta Hall

you gotta give her credit for sheer courage of leaving her own bathroom in that look. Seriously. Who else would have the guts to show up in public looking like that?

Maybe Lady Gaga. Maybe. Except the hair. And maybe the dress. And the black tights. And the strange Young Frankenstein shoes.

other than those little details, I’m thinking Lady Gaga and Bjork would look just alike.  Except Lady Gaga would look just a bit more refined.

  • http://twitter.com/baxterb2 Bbart

I’m going to title this “a case of the Herpens” because it’s almost as if some lovely fungus has taken over the dress.

Jokes aside this is Bjork we are critiquing, which makes me want to just be like ehh let her rock her yarn hair and fungus dress. You can’t change her. Why would you want to?

  • http://twitter.com/amndad amanda lynn

wow; i really like the dress on her.  proportions are a bit off, but i dig it.  as for her hair: bless.

  • marilyn

Is this the Swan Girl?  The dress is strange enough, but the blue wig makes it worse.  I never thought I would say that someone’s hair looks worse than Kelly Osbourne and Katy Perry.  After the dress and the hair, who cares about the shoes?   Talk about doing ANYTHING to make people pay attention to you!

  • Julaine Morley

The ribbon-taffy fantasy is alotta dress, even for the model. It makes Bjork look like a little mushroom, but still she could have improved the overall look without the wacky hair, black tights, and clumpy shoes.

  • AlexisPayne

Bless her, this reminds me of pulled sugar, I also wish she had done a punch of color in the shoes.

  • TheOriginalLulu

What can you say? It’s Bjork. She’s a head case.
This is probably one of the sanest looks she’s ever come up with.

  • PaulaBerman

She looks like the clown I would hire for my 3 year old’s rave themed party.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1401197785 Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

Oh, Bjork. You crazy little muppet.

The dress is awesome, beautifully crazy and Bjorkish, but I CANNOT get past the insane bed-headed clown up do.

  • charlotte

A new marine creature has been discovered. Scientists are still trying to find out how it breathes without gills.

  • http://twitter.com/jessicapippin Jessica Pippin

Wish the hair didn’t match the makeup. I love Bjork and her craziness, but I don’t love this. Really hate the hair.

  • MsOlympia

What a creature she is.  I love her!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

Bjork, showing Lady Gaga who put the CRAY in Crazy first.

    • MoHub

We need a “cray-off” with Björk, HBC, Gaga, and classic Cher.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

Include Nicki Minaj and I request front row seats!

  • cmb92191

It is right in the Bjork wheelhouse.   The boots are a bit awful.  I also noticed the black Zooey tights!

  • allisankelly

I always match my eyeliner to my hair color!!!!!

Glad to know she still brings it after all these many years.

  • TieDye64

Standard Bjork. Fug and crazy as hell.

  • Spreecord

Much like HBC, there’s no point in applying the rules of fashion and style to Bjork. Shine on, you crazy diamond.

  • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gabriella M

Love Bjork. The lady is an institution. I look forward to her becoming a crazy elder stateswoman and laughing from her throne at Gaga and the rest trying to match her. Can Bjork have a country like Helen Mirren does? Or maybe a dwarf planet like Pluto.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/PKI5RTEEJ5TZIZII6VEN2G3D7A Caitlin

Aw bitch is crazy. I adore her. But this has gotta go.

  • Bonnieknits

I can’t help it but there is always something I love about Bjork dressed for an event. I just can’t get behind the hair though.

  • piecesofconfetti

It’s Bjork. To comment would be irrelevant. :)

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Julie-Chase/731391326 Julie Chase

I’m waiting for a new animal dress. Something in the style of a badger or wildebeest hopefully.

    • http://twitter.com/noshadejustT Teri

Why wear a honey badger when she is a honey badger? I love how her award looks like the perfect accessory.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_5UQHEKG5EDX4T6NMARUC565TPQ Amy

Why does her award look like a giant SLINKY? Or is that her “purse”?

  • random_poster

Just wow. Is that “couture” dress one of those inside jokes from the fashion industry to see how many fashion victims they can fool?  There is nothing attractive about this look at all.

  • http://opinionandamovie.blogspot.com/ Deitra S.

She looks as befuddled by that award as I am by her outfit.

  • TSkot

    She’s off her meds.

  • mars tokyo

The shoulders are too small for her.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_ENBX3563Q4ZNCVRGSJVFIB7OAA Thom

    Don’t ever change, Bjork.

I wish she didn’t make her hair and makeup so distant and oppositional to the beige of the dress: it feels like a very color-blocked look. I’ll say, though, that she looks kinda perfectly styled for the event, considering the shape of the award that she’s holding: that really kinda makes the look for me. XD

  • Charles Barthelme

Bjork is the only one who could pull this thing off. It looks right on her, but probably only because that’s what we’d expect.

  • sashaychante

I LOVE Bjork.  You GO, you crazy girl!

  • Shoelover1512

Totally crazy and ridiculous….so pretty much perfect for Bjork!

  • aristida_girl

I wish that just once Bjork would dress like a lady and let her beauty do the work, but I love her anyway, the original quirky girl

  • MilaXX

LOVE HUH no matter how coo coo she looks.

  • http://twitter.com/BMoke28 Bernadette Moke

Does ANYONE else see the penis shape the folded fabric is making in the crotch area?!

  • http://profiles.google.com/valencia.lucia87 Lucía Valencia

Im going to sound really mean but, MAN she looks old! I mean, she’s 47, which by no means is old, but she is giving serious funky grandma vibe here.

  • crash1212

Of course Bjork is holding a giant spring. She gets a pass from me – always. Girl so crazy! That dress is kind of wormy though, no?

  • mjude

i have to admit i just dont get her but i can never look away.

  • Lilyana_F

Bless her heart… seriously, how can you possibly judge THAT

  • EmilyMullasWilson

In the same category as Helena Bonham Carter, Lady Gaga, and sometimes Katy Perry: “CBC” or “Cracktastically Beyond Criticism.”

  • nancymae

Holy smoke!! I almost spit out my tuna sandwich looking at this combination… wow this is a lot to take in.

  • poggi

Lamisil should take care of that.

  • MzzPants

    Cracktastic!

  • butter nut

    bitch is fierce.

  • wordphreak

Well. That is Bjork. It matches the award very well.

  • HobbitGirl

    Bless.

  • enid soto

That dress is actually incredible, but it looks too big on her. The rest cannot have any logic applied, just embrace. Gaga, Minaj and all those other girls will always be Björk copycats to me. She’s been doing this forever.

  • http://twitter.com/GaraStJames Gara St. James

    Perfectly Bjork.

  • hmariec19

    AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA….hahahahahaha…. ahaha… ahhhhhh

    Yeah. That’s about it.

  • bluefish

Love her.  The hair, the dress, the award itself — She’s Madeleine Kahn in Young Frankenstein! And why not?  She’s Bjork!

  • http://profiles.google.com/alison.sigman Alison Sigman

Well, there’s a way to take an interesting and pretty dress and make it about anything but…. Shame.

  • formerlyAnon

It’s Bjork. At the Webby awards. One can’t actually “judge” because there are no “standards.” One can like or dislike.

    I like.

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/toodleskitty79?feature=guide AWS

HOT SHIT!  Bjork is ready for her close up!

  • Qitkat

Overnite, the little elves in the Ribbon Taffy Department at the Kookoo Kandy Kompany worked industrially to komplete the kouture dress for their kooky klient, the world renowned fashionista Miss Björk Guðmundsdóttir. In other businesses nearby the Kotton Kandy experts fashioned the perfect wig for the okkasion, and the Slinky people perfected their first ever order for a stunning stainless steel spring skulpture for the Webby Awards.

  • http://twitter.com/TigerLaverada TigerLaverada

In my book she’s one of those sui generis outliers on the bell curve of fashion for whom normal rules and judgments do not apply. It’s your thing, Bjork, do whatcha wanna do.

  • jw_ny

    lmao!

The dress is really quite fantastical…not something she, nor almost any woman, can do justice to.

  • http://twitter.com/jaythenerdkid Aaminah Khan

    Oh, Bjork.

  • Zippypie

Her hair matches the Google logo.  I like that.  Now she has a big spring.  Her life is complete.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/J2VE4NE2FY2BP4QD2XOYKJGLPI Laura

    Never change, Bjork

  • Kristen W

    Intestine dress!

  • Pennymac

Holy shit that dress is rancid.

  • Judy_J

Oh, Björk…..you found the perfect dress to wear when accepting an award that looks like a giant bed spring.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Ginny-Ellsworth/534496198 Ginny Ellsworth

Seriously?  She looks like aliens moved in next door and she came over to borrow a cup of dilithium crystals.

  • LambeeBaby

Aakkk! It looks like she is wearing someone’s intestines. Perfectly Bjork.

  • Louise Bryan

The award really makes the outfit.

  • LinXGUA

My love, my darling … not those shoes.
    How i love her.

  • http://twitter.com/hurricaneemilyy Emily Shaver

    You go girl.

  • Cat_In_A_Hat

I guess the term, “cray-cray” is kind of redundant in the case of Bjork.
